Hi,
I was wondering if the camera/360 camera and sensor displays can be used without being in reverse? Really helpful when navigating tight spaces.
Hi,
I was wondering if the camera/360 camera and sensor displays can be used without being in reverse? Really helpful when navigating tight spaces.
Under the car symbol (driving aids) there’s a menu item that activates the camera at will. You must be driving max 20 kph though.
I use it all the time when coming into a parking lot or a drive-thru etc.
Thanks, mine is a 2021 model, so perhaps it is not present there?
You sure it isn’t just there?
It took me a very long time to discover it because it looks like just another Settings item in the menu, but it’s not. It’s a temporary activation.
Mine is a 2020 model.
I can’t remember exactly what it’s called, but I’ll try to remember to check tomorrow.
Cool, I’ll have another look.
@vidar-m Found the instructions section in the “Scan MyDS” app:
Theres also a button you can push .
Its down by the hazard lights
Looks like this.
When I press this the camera comes on if I’m driving slowly, you can then touch the screen for different angles.
That button does not exist in my DS7.
Strangest thing is that I can’t find this setting in my menu settings…
Must the car be in motion? Couldn’t find it with the engine on but standing still.
No, the car only needs to be “on”.
In gear or neutral, it will display the front camera. Otherwise it shows the rear camera.
Obviously, since I’m Swedish, my OS is in Swedish, but it’s the 2nd option from the top (“parkeringshjälp med kamera” ~= “parking help with camera”). You see it doesn’t have an on/off selector, you just click on the entire row to activate it.
And this view is the first/default view you get when you click on the car symbol in the lower buttons menu.
Does anyone without the front camera have this option in the menu?
It seems to me that it’s only available with visiopark 2 (front+rear cameras), but I could be wrong.
Strange, this option is not in the menu in my car.
Look like you’re right, this must be the reason.
You don’t have the front camera?
I had no idea you could have the 360 without the front.
Doesn’t look like it. It would have been enough with a view of the sensors, even my previous car, a 2014 Passat, had that
But sensors activate automatically when you get close, don’t they?
To have 360 view the car will require the front camera.
I dont think you have 360 vision ?
Its part of the Comfort Pack on my DS4 E Tense Performance+.
Its not a standard feature on the DS4 Performance or Performance +, 180 vision is the standard.
But the packs can change content from year to year.
