Hopefully I have posted this in the correct place.
DS3 crossback 2024 opera. Will not start.
When you put your foot on the break pedal and press the stop/start button. The car will not start. It flashes up " Engine Fault. Need repairing" there is also a red triangle with an exclamation mark symbol on the left side of the dashboard.
Green flag came out but could not connect their diagnostic machine to the ODB port. They would not communicate. At the moment we are waiting till Mid May when the DS Salon in Stafford can have a look at it. At the moment its a bit frustrating that I can not find out whats wrong. The battery has been fully charged also disconnected for 1/2 an hour. All fuses look ok too. I took the shunt fuse our for a while too. But nothing makes any difference.
Do any of you fellow members have any suggestions to get me out of this problem
Thanks in advance.
I beg your pardon, do you mean charging the battery that means 12V main battery or traction battery if your car is hybrid? Also do you hear starter motor sound when you press start button or nothing happens but a engine fault warning?
Its a petrol. There is no noise from the starter motor. No clicking or anything. Just says on the dashboard " Engine fault… needs repairing "
Unfortunately I thin k you need to wait for that dealership visit ?
I’m pretty sure its an electrical problem but its not being shown from OBD is odd. When battery power is below some point, starter motor does not crank and Engine fault sign appears on dashboard. But it should’ve still work if you charged the battery before.
Sadly yes I do too. My mechanic mates and green flag could not find the cause to the problem.
I was hoping someone on here my have come across this problem before. Oh well its only 5 weeks till the dealer appointment.
Hi . I have a 20 plate DS3 , 1.2 petrol . Having this problem on dashboard “ electronic immobilazer fault “ . Checked the wires , checked the fuses , nothing wrong . What can I do ? Thank you in advance
Welcome @Dan
The immobilizer antenna on the steering column is probably damaged or the key is damaged. Try first the second key if you have one.
tryed already with the second key , nothing . could be smt wrong with the BSI ?
I don’t think so. More likely the immobilizer antenna. That’s easier to assess and measure.
Yes, sounds like the immobiliser.
Have you tried to reconnect the key fob to the car?
When, either you don’t use the key fob for a few days/weeks it goes into deep sleep, or when you change the battery, you have to relink the fob to to car.
You will have to read the handbook as to the the exact procedure. My car, you hold the fob against steering column plastic where the antenna is, then push the start button. It will be in the same text as replacing the key fob battery - I take ot the key fob battery is less than 2 years old?
