So my DS4 E Tense has 4 driving modes.
Sport
Comfort
Hybrid
Electric.
My query is if this, if electric or hybrid mode is selected does this mean the benefit of Comfort Mode is lost ?
In Sport Mode the drive is clearly harder, revs more aggressive ect.
In Comfort mode everything is obviously more comfortable.
But I’m wondering does Comfort Mode completely switch off if selecting electric or hybrid modes ?
Seems a bit of a waste of money paying for an optional extra that can only offer it’s features in it’s own mode.
I can fully understand it not adding anything to Sport mode, but does it get involved in the other modes ?
I am pretty sure in Comfort the active scan is on, and in hybrid it is fully off - but I also think there is also some change in the suspension stiffness between those modes. There are some roads I drive on where the comfort mode is a bit too compliant (undulating but smooth country roads), and being able to switch to the normal suspension in hybrid mode gives me the best ride for those roads. There’s not many times I prefer Comfort - but that is just my preference.I tend to only use Sport mode briefly when I have an overtaking opportunity.

I thought I read somewhere that in electric mode & hybrid mode the car incorporates comfort mode at the same time , if the car has comfort mode, but I might be wrong .
The manual terminology seems a bit ambiguous. My understanding is that there is no difference in terms of how the powertrain works between Hybrid mode and Comfort mode, they are both have normal hybrid operation. The difference is in how the suspension is tuned, though the manual does implies that the Active Scan is active all the time, but just gives different actions (Normal or Comfort).
Sport Mode has a different powertrain operation to Hybrid (and Comfort) and Active Scan in Sport mode.
… it is all very woolly as to what those things actually mean, but the different modes do change the behaviour of the vehicle dynamics per their description (Hybridi/Normal, Comfort or Sport)
I too have asked this question and the answer is vague but I can say comfort mode uses adaptive suspension and also the torque pulling away is gentler. It is aimed for a comfortable ride. My wife drives me around a lot but quite often I request comfort mode over Electric, it is a much smoother ride on bumpy roads and less aggressive acceleration. However when using comfort mode at Motorway speeds it seems too soft and wallows so we use hybrid on Motorways. That’s just my opinion but try asking your question to Microsoft Co-pilot, it can throw some light on this.

This is how I understand the modes, working from what I’ve seen, read and experienced.
Power/Sport = Electric + ICE, Holds gears longer before change, supposedly steering is enhanced.
Hybrid = Electric and/or ICE, Standard suspension, normal economic gear changes.
Comfort = Electric and/or ICE, intelligent suspension (above 25mph ish), lazy economic gear changes, I’ve seen a suggestions that climate control is softened.
Electric = Electric only, Standard suspension, gear changes for optimal battery life.
Usually drive in Electric or Confort, have sampled the other two modes but not impressed.
That is, if you have the active scan suspension.
My shop/dealer checked and said i don’t have it. Apparently it can be difficult to figure out since it took me several tries asking them.
I thought the scan was system was a default feature on PHEV models.
Get in touch with your dealer and ask for the specification of your car. There is a function on their system where if they enter you VIN number they can get the specific build sheet for your car.
I’ve asked them several times and when they did a record check they said they didn’t find anything about it. Last time I had it in for service I asked again and they forwarded the question to the mechanics and they said I didn’t have it.
I do have the PDF that you get from providing your VIN to the admins here. Not sure what I’m looking for though, except for what’s in the screen below.

So Im not really sure what comfort mode is doing on my car, but the ride does feel softer in comfort mode.
Is there a way to see if the car has active scan ?
Thing is, whats included as optional extra, such as Comfort Pack, can change , but the name stays the same.
I think it depends on build year, for instance a car built in 2023 with the optional comfort pack might have different features to a car built in 2024.
Citroëns don’t use active scan they use accelerometers on the front, when they move quick the rear shock follow a split second after, so the active scan may be an improvement on that system. The way I found out how good it was when approaching a roadworks where the tarmac had been stripped.
