Yet another delay… Car was due for delivery between this and the two upcoming weeks. After I contacted the dealer I learned that my salesguy apparently quit his employment last week. Didn’t get any notice at all from either him or the dealer.
But - I contacted the sales manager directly o get an update of my order. According to him the car has been produced and shipped from factory. What puzzles me is the claimed shipping time of 6 weeks… I could get in my car and drive to France in under 24 hours… Either they are bullshitting me or the harbour situation is really off…
With the current weather situation in Sweden I’m kind of happy with the delay. By the time I get my DS4 most of the snow and ice will be gone, giving me 7 months to get familiar with the car before winter
I’d say that it’s normal for 1.5 month between factory production and car arrival in the dealership, especially in Your country since they have to be shipped by sea.
In Poland where there is train connection everywhere in Europe, cars go from factory to importer stock and then they are shipped by trucks to local dealerships so it takes 1.5 month from production.
It was same case in my country for previous cars that I’ve ordered to production with my specific configuration – for example Skoda (which factory is in Czech Republic next to my country) and Peugeout (France). DS4 is produced in Germany in Russenheim so it’s also next to my country and it also takes 1.5 month.
From memory my Skoda took 2 weeks from factory to pickup in 2017.
My Volvo arriver at dealer 1 week after ready in production.
But - As Volvo is built 460km away in the same country that probably is an unfair comparison:)
But, as you say this is normal for shipping I can drop my suspicion of the dealer bullshitting me
Thanks for easing my mind!!
Now we’re closing in to ETA.
Next week (12) it should arrive to the dealer according to our latest correspondence (of course initiated by me)…
It would be really nice if it arrived as claimed, but based on how well their forecast has been historically I would be surprised!
I’ll keep you guys updated!
This went kinda in the direction I suspected.
Got a call Thursday, from sales manager - Your car is a little bit delayed…
According to their system it’s supposed to already be delivered to them, in real life it’s standing at Swedish port waiting for a truck to pick it up.
Now I was offered a DS4 exclusive as a loaner until my car arrives, I accepted this as we currently is one car down at my company.
After running it for 200km I must say that I’m impressed by the level of comfort and the milage.
It’s an ex demo car, when fully charged it shows an electric range of 32km.
Driving to work, +3c, 42km, I end up with 1,7L/100km and roughly 30% charge left.
Waaay better than expected!
It will surely take som time to adjust my driving from diesel to hybrid and I guess that warmer weather won’t make these numbers worse
Love the comfort in the car, not really a fan of the infotainment yet, will take some fiddling getting used to as it differs a while lot from Volvos Sensus system.
Finally!
Today I got to take delivery of my new car!
4 month after initial ETA.
Driven roughly 4000km in the loaner and enjoyed every km
I guess thanks to the delay I got some equipment that wasn’t standard in Exclusive MY2023.
- Inductive charger in compartment with the cup holders.
- Easy open boot
3 Panoramic camera
This wasn’t included when I placed my order, nor does the loaner have them (same spec).
So - even though delayed it turned out better than expected
Great news! We wish You lot of enjoyment and satisfaction from it!
Theres very little to no activity on the forum. I’ve tried to logon a few times without success but today is the day
Just wanted to post an update on my ownership of the DS4 Tense.
I absolutely love this car!! It absolutely has its downsides but the comfort, noise level, quality feel. And also - since some huge update was performed at the dealership, not a single electric fault (gremlin).
Fuel consumption, my daily commute is in total 84km (42km each way).
Most often I charge at my workplace and nothing at home, I use roughly 50% home and rest back to work.
Average fuel consumption 1,9L/100km during week days.
If I have absolutely no charge when the journey starts I usually end up with 5,5L/100km.
Really good for sucha heavy compact car!
Just changed to winter tires, guess that the softer compound will make my consumption go up a little bit.
