Light knocking through steering wheel after ~25 minutes in hybrid mode – DS7 E-Tense 225 (2021)

Also they just dont hold their money.

£46000 layout for a new DS4 E tense Performance line, with some added extras, 2 years later, worth just £17000, with only 4500 miles on the clock one owner from new.
Thats a diabolical loss.

The same thing happens with new BMWs and Mercedes-Benz vehicles. That’s the nature of electric steering racks—they are easily damaged. Hydraulic systems offered a degree of cushioning, whereas electric systems lack that. Consequently, even hitting a curb with a wheel can result in a steering rack failure.

I feel for you.
We have just dropped our DS4 1.2 petrol performance Line Plus
Was £24k new 2 years ago, 10,000 on clock, dealer maintained…
we got under £15k for it part ex…

The Chinese cars are flooding the market, which is forcing the UK market into a downward
price spiral… BUT our service costs are going UP !

Will start another thread on the new purchase… and yes its another DS !

Must be mad…or…?

The entire car market is crazy right now. The vehicle brand is a secondary matter.

Yeah,
I’m thinking about the Kia EV4 GT Line S.
It’s something like £43000 new, but I’ve seen ex demonstrators with just 2000 miles on the clock for around £31000, sometimes a bit less.
Plus the Kia has a 7 year warranty.
I dont think I would buy new again.
I’ve done it for my last 5 cars and you get burned every time.

Only a quick update but the car went in Thursday and home today, new steering rack covered under warranty. They also replaced the PCV valve and rocker cover under warranty as well, as they noticed this was leaking slightly.

I have to say drives so much better in terms of the ride, doesn’t feel like its bouncing/jumping around anymore over potholes. Fingers crossed no more issues, but am debating extending my warranty a little further beyond it’s expiry date next June if I can.
