Small 12v battery access/removal

I’m looking to gain access to he small internal 12v battery in the DS4 , hidden in the centre console between the front seats.
What I really need now is how to remove the compartment that houses the battery.
I can see there’s a join where the compartment looks like it pulls away from the front section but how to release it is where I’m struggling.
I’m hoping Andrew has some tips or anyone else that may of removed this .
Thanks

First, remove the side panels of the both sides of center console. No tools are required.

Next, unscrew the four screws (two on each side) using a 10mm wrench. Then, pull firmly backward. Finally, disconnect the wiring harness, which will be visible after sliding the armrest back. You have to move the front seats as far forward as possible to get to the rear screws.

Assemble the console in reverse order.

Thanks for the photos Andrew..
Does the whole console need to come out or just the arm rest piece ?
Your first photo shows the removal of the side panels.
What’s the best way to remove the side panels, do they unclip by pulling outwards/upwards ?
Are there fixing points to praise off ?

BTW, I’m always impressed by the wealth of information/photos you always supply

The first photo shows the removal of the side panels. They should be pulled out towards the door, i.e., horizontally. The panels only have latches perpendicular to the surface - mean outwards. It’s tight because the seats are in the way.

Disassemble the entire part as in photo no. 2.

Right ok.
I’m guessing you had to do this to be able to connect your Ctek quick release charging cable to the battery , because I think one of the terminals is a bit hidden.
