It would appear my partners cross back has fallen foul of the door handle failure on the rear passenger side (sticks out a little and won’t retract/extend fully) and the drivers door sticks from time to time. So need to replace 1, potentially 2.
Does anyone know of any reasonable suppliers or places to get replacements? The cost from MD is eye watering and looking on ebay its cheaper to buy an entire door in some instances than one handle module.

All 4 on my DS4 have been changed under warranty and are still going good at the moment.
If any do fail in the future out of warranty I’ll certainly be looking at a DIY repair before buying a new handle.
Theres a few posts on here showing how to tackle the removal of the door card to gain access to the handle mechanism and also posts how to open up the sealed mechanism unit to repair it.
The fault is down to water ingress of the sealed unit , which can be solved by opening up the unit, giving it a good clean out and resealing it.
I’m sure a half decent DIY’er can tackle this.
No special tools required, just a bit of common sense and confidence.
I wouldn’t bother fixing it to be honest, they will all break eventually in my experience. In my case: It started with the driver door, then passenger door, then the left right door en after 4 years the last one broke. All.in order of how much they were used. 350 euro per door handle to get it fixed, to get broken again’ , no thank you 
According to my dealership DS have modified the sealed mechanism, but I tend to take what ever my dealership say with a pinch of salt.
The rear handles on my DS very rarely get used, the passenger handle probably once or twice a month.
Obviously with the proximity feature they pop out and back in each time I approach the car, but I will fully open these doors a few times a month just to have the handles fully operated, not just pop in/out, ensuring all the internal mechanism are working freely.
From my experience and from researching, its not overuse that make the handles fail, it’s the known fault of water ingress into the sealed mechanism unit (the white box), making it a bit of a lottery which handle(s) could fail first.
The first to go on my car were the rears, which rarely get used, then the drivers door then the passenger.
When I had the last one replaced the technician at my dealership opened up the sealed unit on the faulty handle to show me how they fail, it was soaking inside and had started rusting the metal components inside.
I had one of the first DS3 Crossback so it could well be that they modified the mechanism at some point. In my case I could tell the mechanisme would fail 4 weeks before they actually did; they would randomly try to close-open while driving. After a few weeks it would fail for good.
Didn’t stop me from replacing the DS3 with a DS7 with traditional handles 
I could also hear mine trying to open/close whilst driving, indicating water getting onto the electrics inside the sealed unit.
I remember owning a Renault Megan, the one with the stick out back end.
They were known for failing window actuators and coil packs.
I bought the car brand new and owned it just 2 years, it went through about 6 window actuators and 3 or 4 coil packs, and if I recall two sets of rear light clusters that would let water into the connectors causing all sorts of issues with the lights.

Thanks all for the responses and the info about how to repair them! I will admit my life is like a soap opera and anything I touch usually goes pear shaped, so i am a bit reluctant to repair myself but will defo take a look at the videos and images. Might attempt it!
Shame the handles fail as my partner loves the car, but definitely finding it hard to swallow the cost of replacing them.
I will admit I love my DS7 as it has the normal handles on as so much easier and everyday to use. I do wish it had the proximity unlock and lock like the DS3 vs having to touch the handle to lock it but I can live with it.
I’d wanted a DS7 since they were launched and couldn’t quite afford to get into one at the time. Despite my issues with the first DS7 (see my other replies on a post) I love the DS7 - even it’s little annoyances!
I did notice the new DS7 has the pop out handles on the front. Fingers crossed they last longer!
I will hold my hands up and loved this era of the Megane - I had two. A 1.5dci sport coupe and then a 1.4 petrol 5 door hatch. The first was perfect, no issues at all until it ended up in a tree. The 1.4 however was loathsome - coil packs, springs, exhaust, slow - the list goes on.
Despite french electrics, I keep going back - a sucker for their style and not being bland or boring like the Germans.
Annoyingly, the handle and mechanism come as one piece, so even though its only the mechanism that fails you have to buy the whole unit.
I have seen used ones on ebay half the price, but you wont know if any water has got into the sealed mechanism without opening it up, so you may as well just open up your own failed handle and fix that one.
My car went into the dealership last week for something to be done, not related to the handles, but whilst it was there I asked them to check one of the electric windows as it only worked intermittently.
It turned out to be a loose connector on the window switch, they fixed it within 10 minutes.
So removing the door panel must be a fairly simple task.
