Any trim above foot pedals? / Cabin Filter Cover

In my car (DS4 2022 E-tense), I am wondering if there is some missing trim that goes above the foot pedals. At the moment it just seems like some loosely fitted sounded deadening material - rather than some rigid plastic panel. Maybe it is supposed to be like that ?

Obviously I can’t see it - so not a problem - but I do get a bad draught of cold air around my feet when driving.

There was a small rectangular bit of black plastic that fell off into foot well when I first picked up the car, and maybe that is related - but it is only about 10cm x 5cm - and couldn’t see anywhere obvious for it to re-attach.

Thanks

It is exactly as in the photo.

Adjust the airflow, no foreign air gets in there.

Hi Andrew_PL, Thanks for confirming that there isn’t any obvious bit of trim missing from that photo.

This is the bit of plastic I found in drivers footwell (pen for size), it could be something from the previous owner and nothing to do with DS. I only had a quick look at the time, but couldn’t see anywhere obvious that it could have fallen from. When I had the car in for rear brakes the inspection they did leave a note saying the “pollen filter cover was missing”, so maybe this is that ?

Thanks, Andy

This is the cabin filter cover. That’s why stronger air is blowing at your feet. Just put it back in place and you’ll be fine. Someone didn’t do a good job replacing the cabin filter.
To put it in place, unfortunately you have to remove that soft panel that you didn’t like.

Great thanks for confirming that - pleased I kept it as the garage wanted to charge £100 for a new one!! I am sure I’ll be able to see where it goes once I get my head in there. Thank you.

Oh is that soft panel just pushed in place - or are there some clips I need to be aware of ?

The panel has 3 clips (visible on the front along the glove box line) but I saw that yours doesn’t have one of them.

This plastic is inserted in the bottom center of the photo.

Thank you again - good to have that info,

The red marks are clips. The green mark is a panel that needs to be removed for better access to the cabin filter. The plastic has no screws, only latches. It can be removed by hand.

@Andrew_PL - thanks, all done. The plastic trim to the side came off (and back on) much easier than I expected, and then reach in far enough to locate the cabin filter cover back in place. Hopefully it will stay there - seemed to be located ok. The pictures were a big help to me. :+1:
