Hello! I’m having issues with CarPlay, I got my Ds Ds3 Crossback a few days ago and i haven’t been able to work Apple CarPlay. Bluetooth is fine and my phone connects perfectly to that each time I’m in the car it’s just CarPlay that appears to be greyed out and inaccessible. I really want it to work so if anyone could help that would be great! I’ve looked everywhere to try and find some sort of solution but still no luck.
Welcome to the community, @Emma_Jane !
I’m not very familiar with the DS3, but is it wired or wireless carplay for starters?
I know I had issues with carplay at first and it was due to a weak cable. I then bought a new cable and it worked fine.
Also, did you buy the car used? In that case, is it cleared from previous owner?
In certain carplay implementations you can’t always have more than one phone connected.
Hello!
Thank you so much,
It’s going to sound crazy but I can’t find any information about CarPlay for this car anywhere! I assume it’s wireless? I do have a charging cable in my car that I have tried in both sockets with my phone plugged in but that doesn’t seem to work. The car is used but as requested by someone else on another site I reset the system and there’s still no sign of life with the CarPlay. It’s so frustrating because I know the car has it as the option is there it’s just greyed out completely!
ok, so we’ll have to assume that the car has carplay since it’s showing in the display.
My best guess/advise would be to try a new cable as a start.
USB-cables can have different power/bandwidth, especially if it’s a cheaper cable.
I can’t guarantee a different cable will work, but I would want to at least rule that out first.
I should also mention that my car has several USB ports, but only one of them works with carplay, and it’s the one in the front console. I don’t know how many there is or the placement in a DS3.
You can also try with another iPhone. My car does not accept a phone if Siri disabled…
