Battery Range - sudden drop

Evening all - more a general question to those who are long term hybrid owners - always been a diesel driver and this is my first hybrid.

I was getting 31 miles off a full charge of the hybrid battery but a few weeks ago this suddenly dropped to 24 miles on a full charge and now from yesterday down to 22 miles on a full charge. From reading online I am assuming the drop is down to the fact Autumn/winter is approaching and temps have dropped but also because the heat has been on, heated seats and lights in the evening (although I travel minimal distances in the dark)

I wondered if everyone else experiences the same and then see a return of a higher range on the battery during the spring summer when the warmer temps come back.

Just asking to see if I should be worried and ask the MD to check as still under warranty or if its just part of hybrid ownership.

Thanks all

When I first had my E Tense brand new last year I was seeing a disappointing between 20 & 22 out of a full charge.

My son who has a Vauxhall Astra PHEV which has the same battery and engine I think was seeing between 30 & 35 miles on a full charge.
The difference though was he was using his car for longer journeys and used it throughout the week more often than I was.
My weekly mileage is only around 55 tops, and short journeys.
Anyway, he advised me to charge the car, drive on full on full electric until it runs out, charge again , drive again on full electric, do this for about a week.
Slowly the predicted electric mileage on my car crept up to 33 mile on a full charge, it stayed around the 33 mileage for months until around the start of September , it then dropped to around 29 miles, it’s now down to 27 miles after a full charge.

My sons has now dropped to 18 miles, however, he hasnt been using the car half as much as he was, and hasnt charged as frequently.
He’s not concerned because it’s expected as the weather gets colder and he’s not using the car as much.
I think the car learns your driving habits and predicts your mileage based on those habits along with the weather conditions.

I wouldn’t worry too much, its getting colder, it will drop.

I will definitely be doing the charge, drive on electric , charge, drive on electric, rota when the weather starts to get warmer again, as it definitely pushed the predicated mileage up on my car.

Apart from using more power-hungry devices at low temperatures, there’s also the loss of traction battery capacity as the temperature drops. In the DS4, at +20°C, I charge 11.4 kWh (0-100%), now at around 5-10°C, it’s only 10.7 kWh.

During warm days cooling fan runs at full speed time to time. I suspect that this also makes difference. It can take about 300 W while spinning.
