Need some info on Battery Registration.
Some place say it’s essential, some say not needed. Have looked at various pieces of software, xtool etc, and when you input the model the battery management options don’t seem to exists unlike other models. Anybody got any real answers, what software, ODBII aps etc.
DS7 Crossback Prestige Blue HDi S/S Auto
Many thanks

The BMS, battery testing & , charging are a grey area with the two 12v batteries on the DS4, so I’m guessing its the same with the DS7 ?
My DS4 is in with the dealership as we speak for its 3rd set of 12v batteries in 9 months.
Technician reckons DS are aware of issues but just cant pin point why the 12v batteries are failing on many DS cars.
Could be because they apparently use recon batteries on all their new cars, this is what another DS technician told me when they changed the 2nd set of batteries.
How much truth is in this dont know ?
Hmm..
This is more about when you replace the battery there is a procedure for ensuring the BM/IBS is updated.
It involves updating the car’s computer system to recognize the new battery, which is especially important for vehicles with start-stop functionality and intelligent battery sensors (IBS). Without registration, the car might mismanage charging, potentially leading to overcharging or undercharging.
How far this is correct I can’t seem to find out. Every DS centre wants money to part with info. Always want to “test” you vehicle before telling you anything.
So was hoping someone on the forum might have some “real” information regarding this.

I do know from experience that you have to disconnect and reconnect the main 12v under the bonnet and the smaller 12v thats inside the car (DS4), in a certain sequence otherwise it can cause big issues.
This is stated in the manual.
That is “real” info !
