Last few weeks I have been trying to tell myself there isn’t a damp smell in my 2018 DS7 when I open the car first thing in the morning but given recent rain and a comment form family members I can’t pretend any longer
Are there any obvious points to check, I’ve not had a chance to have a proper check yet. I have had the rear light changed a while back on recall. Previously on a C4 Picasso there was a drain hole on the wheel arch that got blocked with crap that needed to be cleaned out.
Also the car is parked on a kerb which I don’t think helps matters.
.Is it when the AC is running ?
Could try an AC sanitizer (Halfords), easy to do, just open the spray and put the AC on full ..
Are windows misting up over night, usually a sign of damp , but they can mist up this time of year anyway ..
Any damp cloths in the car you may have used to wipe misty windows.
Damp floor mats ?
Try leaving the floor mats out of the car for a few days see if the smell goes, if it does get new mats , could be something you or a passenger stepped on and transferred to a floor mat ?
Something easy to check - are your wash wipes (front/rear) delivering water ? In my previous car, rear window washing wasn’t working, and instead of it just being blocke nozzle there was a leak at a pipe junction which made passenger footwell a bit wet every time I tried to do the wash.
