Drive mode ‘Comfort’

Hi all,
I can feel a distinct difference between the ECO, Normal and Sport drive modes on my DS7 Crossback (2019).
However, it seems the Comfort setting ‘feels’ just like the Normal setting. Steering, acceleration, etc. I know it is supposed to turn on Active Suspension, but I don’t really feel this?
Is this normal, How can I test if it is working alright?

To be honest, I can’t feel much difference between Hybrid and Comfort either.
I always use Comfort though (if not Electric), hoping that there actually is a difference.

Same here, I cant feel any difference between hybrid and comfort.
My thoughts are comfort is dependent on what features were included in the “Comfort Pack” when it was added as an extra.

For instance, my car has electric tailgate which I’m told by my dealership was part of the comfort pack, but it doesnt have active suspension which I’ve seen on some cars is part of the comfort pack .
I also have keyless entry & welcome lights feature (when they work), again I’ve been told by the dealership this is part of the comfort pack on my spec car for that year.

The packs were a bit of a grey area when I was buying my car so the sales guy managed to find a 1st edition DS4 sales brochure which showed all the packs, there was also a 2nd edition which had completely different features included for the comfort pack, I think it all depended on build year and chassis number which features you car came with.

The sales guy said Stellantis were very keen to condense the packs down because they were causing a lot of confusion.
according to the sales guy theres just 3 different spec/option levels now, where as there used to be a combination of 14 different specs/options.

Not a DS7 but a DS4.
The difference between Sport, Hybrid (normal) and comfort is huge with the DS advanced suspension.
In Sport its really stiff, some body roll due to the weight, a lot like Cupra Formentor hybrid.
In Hybrid its like any other car, same with electric.
In comfort it’s really soft/plush, does have some issues with really sharp edges.
There’s not a chance to not feel the difference between the three different modes.

So that means either I ain’t got it, or there’s something wrong with it.
I have service coming up in a few weeks, I’m actually gonna ask them whether I have it or not. I guess that’s the downside with buying a used car from a non-DS dealer.

Personally I think my sales guy was right when he said the packs changed a lot during 2023-2024,.
I know for sure that active suspension was not part of the comfort pack on my 2023 E Tense.
But in the 2nd edition sales brochure it was.

I’ve just had a look on the official DS site, and each packs that are available for current models differ depending on the engine you chose.
For instance the Absolute Comfort pack on the E tense consists of :
Massaging front seats’’ ‘‘Ventilated front seats’’ ‘‘FOCAL Electra® HiFi system’’ ‘‘Electrically Opening Sunroof’’ ''Motorised tailgate - hands-free access

But if you chose the basic Hybrid engine your Absolute Comfort includes :
FOCAL Electra® HiFi system’’ ‘‘Electrically Opening Sunroof’’ ''Motorised tailgate - hands-free access.

But as mentioned above, Stellantis had a big change in packs during late 2022 and 2023 to try and make things easier to understand, clearly they failed !

Sorry, you misunderstand my post.
I stated that I feel indeed a difference (big) between Eco, Sport and Normal. I have a petrol car, so no Hybrid here; it’s called Normal.
However… there is a 4th option: Comfort. The manual states that this turns on the adaptive suspension. But I feel no difference between Normal and Comfort. They are both very different to Eco and Sport, but not compared to each other.

I also have 4 options.
Sport
Hybrid
Electric
Comfort

Even though I have Comfort mode, the car does not have Active Suspension , if it did you would see it in your setting as you can turn it on and off.
As already mentioned, the contents of each packs changed , so owner may actually have Active Suspension as part of their Comfort Pack but another owner may not but have Electric Tailgate instead, it was the cross over of packs where some owners gained and some lost out certain features.

Another thing to note is the manual may mention Active Suspension as part of the Comfort Pack, but bare in mind that there are different editions of manual plus the manual might also indicate something like “depending on model & spec” , or even have a small astrix prompting the reader to check the small print.

What year is your car, if it’s an early to mid 2023 build, it might indeed have been caught in the cross over of pack changes.
It’s the build date and chassis number that will determine what is and is not included in each optional pack.
I think I gained electric tailgate, 360 camera, rear cross traffic, and perhaps an upgraded sound system ?
But I’m not 100% sure if I’m honest, but I definitely did not get Active Suspension as part of my Comfort Pack.
I was convinced that my 2023 car should had the Active Suspension but when the sales guy managed to find a 1st edition brochure and compare it to the newer version you could clearly see that the Active Suspension was not part of the pack on the 1st edition which covered early to mid 2023 build dates.
If you search online DS specs you might be able to come across the different brochure editions.

Two things can happen when you put the drivemode to comfort.

If you have a hybrid, and the car is charged, it will change how the car switch between electric engine and petrol. In comfort, the car will go to petrol earlier when the speed goes up, compared to hybrid mode.

In the DS7 and DS9 in the hign spec. versions like Rivoli and Opera, the suspension will change to a more soft mode. You are 100% able to feel it.

In Denmark, a DS7 Performance Line don’t have the comfort suspension. Maybe there are different cars on different markets?

I was on holiday in Berlin and back, last week in my DS9. Nearly 1500km in comfort mode at 140-160 km/h. The ride was a dream.

But the car was dirty afterwards!

@Jactac “if it did you would see it in your setting as you can turn it on and off”
In the DS4 there no option to turn the advance suspension off.
Only setting is the drive modes.

Thats my point, if the car had Active Suspension wouldn’t you be able to see the option to turn it on/off in settings ?.

Thats interesting.

over the last few weeks my E Tense has been switching to petrol far far quicker than it used to, but its still in hybrid mode.

No unfortunately not, theres no option to turn it on or off except through the different driving modes.
