Is anyone else having the same problem; I think the reversing camera image quality is pretty poor, of course usable, but the quality is miserable.
And is there any easy solution to the problem?

You can alter the contrast and brightness in vehicle settings.
However, although the camera image on my DS4 is very good, I’m currently driving a courtesy DS4 from my dealership, the camera image on that seems even more crisper, so I checked the settings and they are exactly the same as my DS, so it does beg the question, do some DS cars have a better camera ?

Early DS7’s had a lower resolution camera, and as you said quality is lacking but it is functional. A higher resolution camera was made available for later cars, though the control unit as well as the camera needs changing. Unfortunately you can’t just change the camera on your setup to improve the picture.

Think its not possible to take a used camera of a 2022/2023 model and just replace it?
It is possible. But, if I am not mistaken, you have to unplug it from inside. This means disassembling trunk cover.
Do you or anyone know from which year on the camera on the DS7 has a better quality?
From what I found the part number for the newer camera (2021+) is 9833493780. Maybe that will be the better quality?
Can anyone actually confirm this would work? I’m really hating the camera with all of my being, its like a cheap phone camera from the 2000’s. Moving to this camera from my 2015 peugeot 508’s camera feels like going back to the stoneage.

This is what I can see.
Obviously this is a photo of an image , so in person its better and theres a setting to adjust contrast ect, but I’ve just left mine at the standard factory settings.

Here are a few low-quality reversing photos taken with a cell phone from my own yard. As someone said; I don’t think just changing the camera will improve the image quality much. So my car is a 2019 DS7 E-Tense.
I wouldnt say yours were that poor compared to some i’ve seen, maybe a little more blurry perhaps than mine.
The courtesy car i was driving last week was slightly better than mine but i havent tried changing any settings on mine s i dont know if i can improve the imge, but to be honest i’m ok with what it is at the moment.
my car is a 2024 registered E tense but a late 2023 build.
There’s no easy way to just swap the camera from a newer DS7. You have to change the entire system from NAC to IVI, which is difficult.
What you can do is upgrade your camera from a weak one to a slightly better one, if you don’t already have one. The part number for the upgraded camera for your model year is 98334937XT.
