Hello, I am the owner of a DS7 E-Tense 2024 and I live in Germany. Last week, my car wouldn’t start due to a battery issue, so I called ADAC and we had to jump-start the battery. Later, when I took the car to the service center, they told me that they had recharged the battery, that there was no issue, and that there was a mandatory system update that they had installed. They also mentioned that they performed a €40 service for free.
I believe that my car already updates itself automatically via a Wi-Fi connection. After checking the system version, I saw that it is currently AHW.1.25.98.11. However, after doing a quick search on Google, I found this page: OSS CODES, and the latest version listed there is 1.30.40.15.
The question is that can I manually install this version, and if so, how can I do it?
The 12v batteries on the E Tense are useless.
I’ve had both changed twice under warranty in the last 7 months.
The Master Technician at my dealership told me DS use recycled materials for the “new” batteries.
As for automatic updates, check to see if its switched on in your settings, if it is it should in update to latest for your car.
however, do go thinking just because theres a more recent one such as 1.30.40.15 your car should have that one.
Apparently your car will only install the update that your car needs, so for instance if its now on 1.25.98.11 then thats the one your car needed, the 1.30.40.15 could be for the DS7 E Tense but under different chassis numbers.
Thats what my dealership told me.
My car is set to accept auto updates via wifi but it hasn’t done any for months.
I checked the car again. The update via Wi-Fi is always enabled, but I noticed something unusual. Although it appears to be connected to the home Wi-Fi network, there is no internet access. I discovered this issue while checking the map updates.
When I tried using my phone’s hotspot, I was able to establish a connection, but the system still says there are no updates available. However, this method doesn’t seem very reliable. I plan to try again later.
It seems that manual system updates were available for DS7 models before the facelift, but are the newer versions only updated via Wi-Fi?
This was also my concern for my DS4 2022 1.6 puretech 180. I had only one update in april 2024 and so far nothing more. Although my car has everything for Drive Assist 2.0, equipped with all sensors it is still on Drive Assist 1.0 even if Stellantis stated in 2021 that Drive Assist 2.0 will be available later via OTA for vehicles who can support it. 1st of all MyDS is terrible app for such a premium brand, 2nd, I think they struggle to make their OTA works as it should be.
I’ve just checked the map version on my 2023 DS4.
It is :
16.15.0+P122.12
42666 Europe (2020).
So if I’m reading this correct the maps are from 2020 Europe ?
Yet the car is a 2023 build ?
The OTA vehicle updates says “No Updates Available”.
The car does connect to our home WI-Fi when parked in the drive.
So how does the car get map updates ?
I believe the OTA only updates software from DS, it doesn’t update the maps, but I might be wrong ?
I’ve just tried updating the maps manually via Wi-Fi, the car shows its connected to our home Wi-Fi, but when trying to manually update via the sat nav it says not connected to Wi-Fi ?
The software updates say’s no updates pending, again though this might be because the car is showing as connected to Wi-Fi but it’s not a good enough signal to carry out updates ?
I’ll try a Wi-Fi booster over the next day or so, if its still the same it will be yet another visit to the dealership workshop.
My son reckons, being connected is not the same as being able to use the connection if its poor ?
I’m wondering f this is why I’ve not had any software updates either ?
We’ll see !!
NB:
I was told all updates are OTA via Wi-Fi, this includes maps and vehicle software.
Apparently when theres an update you get up to 5 notifications, each one when you complete a trip and switch off the engine, if you dont carry this out within the 5 notifications, it then has to be done by a dealership and probably paid for ?
Forced updates can be carried out by a dealership.
Yes, you need to have strong 5/4 G signal on the phone, then go to connectivity and wifi in the car and find your phone on the list and connect. Go to the navigation, settings and updates, select europe and select what countries you need. But for the system update, it is still mystery… Tried already everything you recommended long before.
So bit of an update.
Even though the car is showing as connected to our home Wi-Fi, my son suggested that I install a Wi-Fi booster as a test, apparently just because it shows as because connected to a Wi-Fi it’s not the same as being able to download from that Wi-Fi.
As soon as we turned on the booster it worked, the maps started updating straight away.
Hopefully, if theres any software updates they might start now aswell ?
The dealership told me that the DS software updates only come via Wi-Fi ?
Not sure if that correct ?
Why does the car have 4g & Wi-Fi ?
I did have two OTA updates, the first one was sometime in October last year, 1 month after buying the car, and then another one in February this year, but nothing since.
However, the car has been back and fore the dealership many times over the last few months trying to solve the issue with the keyless entry, they’ve also done a full reboot of the all software and some updates on other occasions so maybe my car is up to date ?
Unfortunately, since I got the car, I have never seen it update via Wi-Fi. However, I found a way to connect it to my home Wi-Fi network. I had an old Wi-Fi repeater that only works with 2.4GHz, so I created a new and dedicated Wi-Fi network specifically for the car. Now, it can connect to receive updates. However, as you all mentioned, there have been no updates for the map or system since April 2024.
My maps are updating as we speak ?
The only thing I find odd is that the updates only start if the cars ignition is on and the Wi-Fi has connected , when I switch off the ignition the update stops, or at least I think it stops ?
The Wi-Fi booster is set at it lowest 2.4ghz , so I’m going to set it to 5.0ghz and see what happens.
It’s been updating the maps for over a day, but I think thats because it’s turning off when the ignition is off ?
So an update on the updates.
All maps fully update, it took almost three full days, basically the whole of the Europe maps needed updating, but because I thought the Wi-Fi was connecting when it wasn’t I thought there was an issue, but in reality the car was connecting to our home wi-fi but the signal wasnt strong enough to start the downloads, I was just looking at the connection not if it was actually downloading.
The new wi-fi booster sorted it all out.
Another thing I should of done to speed things up was to only update the maps I required, in this case UK and set the booster to 5ghz not 2.4ghz.
I’ve also now realised after doing some research is that maps are only updated via Wi-Fi, and the DS software updates are only done via the 4g connection.
I’m not sure though how to check if the car is actually connecting via 4g ?
I made the mistake of thinking the Wi-Fi was ok by just seeing the Wi-Fi icon on the screen.
Is there a way of seeing if the car is actually connected to 4g ?
