As Andrew says.
Active Sport sound is turned on/off in your settings, but I cant tell the difference what so ever.
Remote window opening, now this is a bit of an odd one, because I can auto close by holding down the lock button on the remote fob, but I cant get the windows to open by holding down the open button on the fob.
It also says in the manual that the windows can be closed this way but no mention of being able to open the windows using the fob.
I haven’t tried as Andrew suggests, holding the 1st & 3rd button together, by that I assume you mean the locking & unlocking buttons together ?
You just have to keep the locking (or unlocking) button on the fob pressed when in close proximity and the car will close the windows (or open them) while you keep the button pressed.
Sorry my mistake - hold 1st to close windows or hold 3rd to open them, not both in one time.
I changed this in the VSM coding and it works both ways. By default, it only closes windows.
I confirm, there’s no difference. I’ll just add that the sound is only from the car’s speakers inside. Nothing changes outside.
So by default the fob only closes the windows when holding down the lock button.
How do I get to open the windows using the fob ?
I’ve tried standing next to the car with the open button firmly pressed but all it does is open the locks ?
Could this be a standard feature on later models ?
Mine is a 2023 build registered 2024.
This isn’t a standard feature. It must be configured in the VSM (BSI) via DS in the menu “windows and doors settings”. Or, it can be configured outside of DS, but this could void your warranty.
I don’t count on DS, so I switched it in VSM to opening/closing windows with the remote control.
The VSM, like the BSI before it, is the main module managing the car’s other control units. It connects all the CAN buses (there are 8 or 9 of them in the DS4, in old BSI it was only 2 or 3 can buses). Everything you have in the car is listed there. If you incorrectly set any option in the VSM, it will stop working.
For example, if you set in the VSM to “absent” the motorized tailgate, it will stop working. The motorized tailgate is ok, but it doesn’t have permission to operate from VSM, so it won’t open/close.
When I physically retrofitted the NightVision module and camera, in addition to the necessary changes in IVI options, I also had to change two options in VSM so that the system could work and fulfill its function (visible image, alarms, emergency braking).
