Hi. Is anyone experiencing the dash on the ds4 2022+ creaking around where the plastic trim meets the rubber dash? It’s mainly just in the heat but it is driving me crazy! Any recommendations on how to stop it? Thanks
Theres nothing worse than a constant annoying squeaky noise when you’re driving along.
Thats why I make the wife take the bus
Is it possible you apply some rubber silicon spray where you think the two bits are rubbing together causing the noise ?
Perhaps something like this below, but theres loads of different types of sprays on the market to stop creaks & squeaks:
Thanks. I did get some spray similar but it did not work
can you identify the exact spot and perhaps lay down something like a thin rubber tape between the two surfaces to take up the gap ?
My thinking is if theres a tiny gap, enough to let the two surface rub and creak you might be able to fill it with a thin rubber tape ?
something like :
Self-Amalgamating Rubber Tape Black
I can’t see a gap anywhere. I could try that other spray. I’m not sure I could get the tape in unless I try and take the plastic insert out. I wonder if DS will do anything? It just makes the car feel so cheap. I had a DS3 crossback before this and that was so quiet
I’ve had a few issues with my DS4 but I have to be honest, its one of the most quietest cars I’ve owned, especially as its on the 20 inch alloys with the ultra low profile tyres.
I was expecting it to be a very hard noisy ride, but I was pleasantly wrong.
Where exactly is the creaking noise on your car ?
Mine is the top spec opera model but it feels the cheapest. It’s the plastic surround for the heads up display on the dash. When I hold it - it stops creaking.
Right ok,
Probably prone to a lot of temp changes sitting right behind the windscreen.
I have the heads up display but it doesnt creak or squeak YET !
Theres a product called Captain Tolleys Creeping Crack sealer, it’s a a super thin sealer /adhesive that dries clear, and is pretty much invisible, you gently run it along where you it to penetrate and it seeps into the smallest of gaps and holds them firm.
You could try that ?
I Used it on airline split on a rear lens on my previous Volvo, it worked a treat.
Anything with a name like Creeping Crack that penetrates by itself has to be worth a shot
Haha!! Thanks mate - I will give that a shot. Yeah I had the head up display in my ds3 and that didn’t creak. The front dash vent and speaker seem to be the same plastic and they don’t creak. It’s just so frustrating
