Is there a way to completely close the air vents on the DS4 ?
I’ve noticed that the dash vents and door vents still let a draught through even with the fan switched off on my DS4
So bit of an update.
After some fettling around and looking online, it seems as though only the door vents and the rear air vent (the one thats fitted into the center consol and vents towards the rear seats), are the only ones that can be closed off completely.
So theres a constant draught coming from the all other vents even with the fan off.
I just find some info in a forum of a premium car:
“This happens in all cars if recirculation is turned off. The temp is maintained, but the fan is off so what you feel is forced induction from the car moving though the air. If you turn on recirculation, but leave the fan off, you shouldn’t feel any thing from the vents.”
Nope.
The manual shows that only the door vents and the rear vents have a “closed off” position, although those vents still let a draught through when “closed off”, which is bearable, however all the other vents on the DS4 do not have a “closed off” position, and even by trying the circulation method nothing changes.
I might be wrong but on the DS4 recirculation does not operate unless the fan is switched on.
I agree that what is felt coming through the vents is forced air from outside as the car moves forward, hence the driver be able to close off all vents completely without having to switch any air recirculation or fans on/off…
Having to operate the recirculation to stop this forced air seems a bit counter productive if you are trying to save energy ect , but the DS4 doesnt allow recirculation with the fan on anyway.
