Has anyone noticed on their new DS DS4 (2022 onwards) that the bonnet does not line up either side and is misaligned? I took mine into DS today and they said it’s the same as their new one in the showroom. Pretty shoddy tbh
Yep,
I noticed it the first day I had my DS4.
It certainly is shoddy.
I’ve checked it against a number of other DS4’s, some were a bit better , many were a lot worse, but none were bang on.
Apparently car manufactures have to work to a calibrated standard for such things as door/bonnet, boot gap alignment, these standards have a +/- tolerance, I guess DS either haven’t heard of this standard or they take it to the max.
Either way it’s poor.
You’ll find as time goes on, the DS brand is not as “Premium” as people are ed to believe.
I was in DS Birmingham today and the service department was horrific. I was really shocked - they gave a long way to go to be a premium brand. Was not interested at all in my issues.
My car, a DS4 E Tense Performance Plus has been into the dealership on average once per month since buying it brand new last September.
It’s had two new keys, 2 new batteries, a new module, countless software updates and it looks as though one of the new batteries has already gone faulty so will be changed again, it also needs a new badge on the bonnet as the lacquer is starting peel on the original.
They still cannot find the cause of the fault and are now waiting for DS Technical in France to write a new software code which has no time limit on when it will be released ?
So far they’ve reimbursed fuel costs for the last 7 months at 20p per mile, have also offered a goodwill gesture payment but only when the car is finally fixed, which is approximately £500 per every 6 months for any inconvenience, or I can give the car back now for a full refund.
I’m still considering my options.
The DS brand is no way in the same league as other top end brands.
As the saying goes “It’s Mutton Dressed As Lamb” or as my mate say’s “It’s a 20 yarder”, it looks good from 20 yards, but not close up !
Yes other brands have issues, but DS seem to be way out in front !
I do like driving the car and it does look good with the added options like the 20 inch alloys and pearl black roof against the pearl white body, (from a distance LOL), but it’s certainly not without it’s faults and not up there with the other top end brands.
Oh god that’s shocking! I hope you can get it sorted. I totally agree with you - they are beautiful looking cars but still have a long way to go. People often stop and ask me about the car. I had a ds3 crossback before which to be honest I preferred - I had that for 5 years with no issues at all! I feel the build quality of that was much better! I have currently got 4 new alloys on order under warranty as they have issues with the lacquer, a new door seal as it’s broken. It’s has 2 software updates today - the only issues I have really are cosmetic and slight vibration noise from the front door panels.
