I’m Sven and live just above Amsterdam
Bought an all black 225 E Tense performance line last October which was imported from Belgium.
Coming from a 2010 Renault megane I entered a spaceship and I liked it. No weird issues so far. Did some research about a low electrical range here some months ago when I wasn’t a member yet.
Had a range of 18km and used the reset trick of a member here… Forgot his name, and I’m now on 28 km. Will use the trick again when it’s warmer and hope to push the range up to 30+.
When I bought the car it’s electric range was 32km, dye to a heavy foot and the winter it drop significantly…
Could of be me who posted that ?
My son recommended to do the following and it worked, so I put it on here in one of the posts.
Run on full electric, drain down to zero %, recharge, run again full electric, drain to zero%, do this over a week or so.
It initially increased my range from 19 miles to 26, then from 26 to 33 miles.
I’ll be trying it again shortly.
This last bit was also advised by the DS tech guy at my dealership.
Not sure if it actually does anything ?
Zero the trip counter BEFORE opening the doors, do this each time you charge the traction battery.
It will steadily increase.
Mine has increased to 29 miles from 23 miles before I did the repeat recharge thing.
Best I’ve had is 33 miles, but I’m confident theres more to have.
My son has recently pushed his from 19 miles up to 41 miles, doing the exact same thing but he does undertake some longer journeys as well so I think that also helps increase the predicted range.
I’m going to do it again shortly but at the moment my car is defaulting to run in “Automatic Operation” which means the car defaults to the ICE as it needs to run a certain for amount of mileage so that it can run through it’s internal checks.
I do very low mileage, which tend to be mostly urban, so the ICE tends to start and stop frequently without it reaching it’s optimum temp, so “Automatic Operation” mode has the ICE run to carry out checks at the optimum temp, once the car is happy with everything, full electric mode becomes available again.
Carry on doing the repeat recharge thing but also throw in some longer journeys and try to keep the car in ECO band , you might then push your predicated milage higher.
All the car is doing is telling you if you continue to drive like this your predicated mileage is XXXXX ?
But its nice to see a higher figure.
Journey length does impact the predicated mileage.
Short journeys tend to give a lower predicated mileage.
I was only seeing 19 miles MAX after a full charge when I first had the car.
It was like this for about 9 months doing the same short journeys every day.
Even through the warmer summer months it did not increase.
I was then advised by the DS Tech guy at my dealership to carry out the repeat charge where you charge it to full drive in full electric until empty, charge it back up drain it back down ect ect .
Do this for about a week and a bit.
My mileage increased from 19 miles to 33 miles.
Same exact short trips, same driving style, weather was our normal UK , car parked up 3 days out of 7.
UK weather doesnt really go through large extrems.
Yes we get colder winter months and warmer summer months, but the last time we saw snow down south was around 10 years ago.
My point is the weather only impacts marginally here.
I did absolutely nothing different apart from running the car on full electric, depleting the battery, recharging , running again until depleted and so on for just under two weeks.
My usage and trips for my car are EXACTLY the same week in week out.
Drive to work for 4 days, park the car up for 3 days.
In total just 45 miles per week.
The predicated mileage was stagnant at 19 miles after a full charge, yet when I did the above it gradually started to increase.
I just couldnt get the mileage past 19 miles until I tried the above.
My son had already heard about this repeat recharge thing so was already doing it with his PHEV, he’s now seeing around 41 miles, an increase from 19 miles but he does a couple of longer journeys throughout the week.
Call it nonsense, a coincidence, a fluke.
It works for me, and seems to be working for others.
