Last summer I noticed that the reversing camera on my DS5 wasn’t working, my first thought was a loose wire and I made a note to get it looked at. The next day it was working fine so I put it down as a one off fault and left it. Over the next few months the fault occurred again and became a regular issue, at the same time the radio stopped working and essentially anything related to the infotainment screen is out of action.
The odd thing is that the screen has a slight glow to it when the ignition is on and the head unit makes a regular whirring sound as if it is trying to load a CD so it seems there is power to the unit.
My local garages had no interest in looking at it so after some internet searching I suspected that the issue was a breakdown of the micro SD card with the software on it. I changed the SD card for a new one and downloaded the latest software update onto CD but no luck with loading that.
I inserted the old SD card into my PC and managed to copy the files off it over a period of six weeks - yes weeks, the copy rate was incredibly slow. I have then copied the files onto a new SD card which literally took six seconds and installed it in the head unit. Frustratingly this has not fixed the issue, it is just the same as before.
Any suggestions gratefully received!
