Hello, I think this is a very old and ongoing topic but I am one of many having issues with updating firmware by making update USB from official app. I am getting messages: No media content on USB stick and Version not compatible with hardware. I have tried literally everything, from older versions, changing USB sticks, removing parts of folders (installing maps only etc) but nothing really helped. I am connected to hotspot, tried adding custom cert that I found somewhere, literally no ideas anymore.
Could someone have an idea how to solve this once and for all? I am sorry if this is duplicate of many other threads but I didn’t find the working answer yet.
Current firmware in car:
31.08.05.86_NAC-r0
DS7 Crossback 2018 2.0
Good afternoon.
I have the same problem, contacted the dealer by mail, they offer different options, none of them have helped yet.
Please contact us, probably more requests are needed to solve this problem.

Hi, try to format USB to FAT32 with smaller cluster size.
I have managed to solve it with Fat32 and an old USB 2.0 16Gb.
Also had issue with Incompatible USB.
I have tried 32gb usb, 2.0, formated it to fat32 but that didn’t help sadly, same error,
Update is 20+gb so I can’t use smaller usb then 32gb, I have tried 32gb 2.0 usb, formatted to fat32 but that didn’t help sadly, other one I tried was 128gb 3.2 usb, still no luck
Try more…I changed 5
Six months ago when I updated my 2020 ETense 4x4, I was able to resolve the issue by using a PC to download instead of my Apple MacBook. I had read on another forum that downloading on Apple MacBook causes the update process to error out. Hope this helps.
Fun fact about the update on the infotainment system, i’ve started getting a minor stuttering in the bluetooth connection when playing back music from my phone, this was not present before said update. It’s not much, just a slight interruption like 1s and then back to normal, but it’s still a tad frustrating, and it happens every time i turn on my car. This same issue happened to a friend who has a peugeot 3008, with what i think is the same infotainment, immediately after updating his system. Otherwise, can’t say i can see or feel any difference between the old and the new firmware. But who knows, i have the petrol version, maybe the e-tense models have some more improvements.
My reason to update firmware is mostly latest maps. Also, I am stuck on 2018 firmware still and there are many minor issues happening that might have been fixed in last 7 years like massage randomly stopping as well as seat heating/cooling being on but not working every time, one of the side mirrors not returning to original position after reverse sometimes, issues with bluetooth/wifi and similar. If update fixes any of these issues even remotely, I am happy. Updates are there anyways to resolve existing bugs, not always add new features which is completely fine for me.
