DS7 2019 - Firmware update error

Hello everyone,
Hope you’re doing well.

I’m having an issue with my DS7 for updating the NAC & gps firmware. The DS update software download et copy the files to my USB without any problem (done on 5 different USB) but when i use those USB on my DS7 I get the hardware compatibility error (see attachments). Any idea about the error or a solution?

Hoping to find my answer here :hugs:

Best regards.

Hi @Abdel.ouabi

Welcome to the community!

This happens if you don’t include the license file in the USB, and the car cannot verify the firmware.

Try connecting your car to your hotspot/wifi before starting the update, or include the license file.

Thanks,
Alex

Hello, thank you for your response. The licence file os included when I download with ds updater ? Else where can I find it ?
Thanks you in advance.

It will download automatically if you connect to WiFi in the car. Please try this

The screen is blocked on the blue loading page, so I can’t connect to wifi

How are you downloading the update file, is it via the DS update application?

Please also post your VIN (it is only visible to admins).

On the USB, please create a folder called ‘license’ and put the below .key file into it.

license_0D01011081D4EE7F8B49_001315031622734386.key (7.1 KB)

I would also recommend you try updating only the infotainment, forget about the maps for now.

Try extracting this onto a USB stick: PSA_ovip-int-firmware-version_42-03-33-42_NAC-r0_NAC_EUR_WAVE3.tar

Thank you Alexm, I will try this weekend.

Hi there,

Same error. I tried with the firmware folder only and after that with the map folder but i have the same result.

I don’t have any idea right now :face_exhaling:

Because you are speaking of different folders etc. - just to be sure: You are using the official DS firmware download app; the app has your car with VIN code as a user, and you are following the whole process in the app including the portion where the app is copying the files to your USB drive? So you are not manually copying the files?

Hello Ronald,

Yes, I’m using the official DS update application with my VIN for downloading and copying on my USB and I have the same error.

I used also the direct links to download the zip file and the license for my VIN number and formatted the usb on FAT32 mannually but the same error.

Best regards.

Hmm, the info you haven’t shared is, which software version are you coming from? What is your current infotainment version?

The DS mobile app asked me to download and install version [42.03.33.42_NAC-r0; thing I realized and caused the posted problem (Incompatible Hardware).

After several searches, tests and checks, to resolve the problem and recover the touch screen, I downloaded the MAP 17 WAVE 4 (https://download-cde.tomtom.com/OEM/PSA/MAP/PSA_map-eur_17 .0.0-r0-NAC_EUR_WAVE4.tar), which I extracted into a FAT32 USB key and just after connecting it, the screen restarted to give me access again.

Now after checking, I have version 31.09.46.62_NAC-r0 WAVE3 and MAP 10.

Now, someone more experienced should let us know if there are any potential (hardware?) incompatibility issues going from 3x versions to 4x ones.
Unfortunately I havent checked the first time I did my infotainment software update, so I dont know if I came from 3x or have had already 4x version.
Did the updates of both maps and infotainment software few times now but all within 4x software version range…
My ds7 is from 2018 Opera

Hi Abdel,

I also need to update from 31-08-05-86 to 42-03-33-42.

Unfortunately, I’m also getting the incompatible hardware message.

I know I need the Touchscreen update and the Maps update as well.

If I follow the same steps you did with Wave 4 Maps, would it work, or is there another solution for this?

Thanks in advance!
