I recently bought a DS7 Crossback 2022 E-Tense 4x4 (pre-facelift), and I’ve been trying to add another country to the built-in navigation system. I found out that this can only be done through the DS/TomTom navigation updates, so I’ve been waiting for a new release.
On November 3rd, I got a notification that a new update was available. I installed the DS Update application, downloaded the update, and transferred it to a USB stick. However, when I tried to install it in the car, the update only ran for a few seconds after I selected Map EU, then displayed an error saying the update could not be completed.
I tried several times with different USB sticks — including some larger than 64GB (which weren’t even recognized by the app) — but the issue persisted.
Another detail that might be relevant: in the DS Update app, the new map version is shown as 16.0.0, but my DS7 navigation system already shows version 17.0.0 installed. Could this version mismatch be the reason the update keeps failing?
Has anyone else encountered this problem or found a solution?
Stellantis seems to mess up more than just version numbers … I am getting more and more fed up with this company.
Beside the chaos with the last recall of my DS7, we continiously have problems with the other DS7 BlueHDI 130, which runs on emergency program only if a maintainance is close. We asked the dealer what the problem was: No answer. Maybe the oil quality (well, it was the oil they used for maintainance).
I received tons of mails about the new no. 8, but when I ask my dealer about a test ride, they tell me “no”, but I can have a look to the car in their showroom. What the f**k? I want to ride this car, not look at it.
I better go back to Volvo, the chinese guys do better understand the importance of treating a customer well. And the Volvo cars do updates over-the-air, not with the prehistorical USB-stick bullshit …
