DS7 E-Tense 225 Drive mode

Hello,

I have DS7 E-Tense 225 plug-in. But when I start the vehicle, drive mode is always electric. So it is consuming battery first until the end but I rather to use hybrid mode. How may I change it to hybrid mode as default? Is there any way to do that?

It’s normal.
Whenever you start the car it will default back to Electric mode, no matter which mode the car was in when you parked up.

Like you I think it’s a bit frustrating.
I’ve asked them same question with the Master Tech at my dealership, he said as far as he was aware there is no way to change the default starting mode.

Adding to what Jactac already said,
I’m not sure I understand the downside of always starting in electric mode.
Unless you always drive longer distances than what the batteri have the power for, the whole point with a plug-in is to use electric first.
It’s better for the environment and it’s better for your wallet.
And it’s easy to switch mode if you’re planning on driving a longer distance.

Btw, I never use hybrid mode. I always switch to Comfort if I don’t want to stay in electric.
Comfort mode is like hybrid mode, but it’s also the only mode where the active suspension is enabled.

The disadvantage of it, I want to use it only when it is necessary because as you know we do not have much battery so we regularly use it daily more than 50 km in one drive. So in general I want to use the battery to reduce the gasoline consumption other than driving with electric.

But thanks for your answers and explanations. I have to switch every time I start the car.

Unfortunately I do not have comfort mode, I only have sport, hybrid and electric.

Just to add, it’s part of the Homologation requirements. Car manufactures are trying to meet current emission levels, so the type approval had to include that the vehicle MUST use electricity as priority. It’s also the reason why, if you drive too much without recharging the traction battery you get a warning message.
I belive there is a directive so the driving aides can not be disabled - in the pipeline, I wonder if they will include similar restrictions for “hybrid only” driving?

If you want some bedtime reading, here’s the start.
