Have a 2020 model DS7 ETense Crossback. Does it make sense to change spark plugs after 5 yrs and 50000 km? Dealer wants to do this at a cost of €175. I feel it can go to 60000 km or one more year. Any thoughts?
It depends on how much you drive on the combustion engine and how much on the electric. If it’s 50/50, you can leave it. In 1.6 combustion versions, the spark plugs need to be replaced after 50,000 km.
Good Point. I bought it used at 40000 km, so can’t really know exactly. But based on my experience, since most of the kms are on highway, it is probably more like 70/30. Still, it seems 50000 km is too early to change spark plugs on the ETense.
Mine is the opposite - 20/80. So maybe at 100,000 km (now 33333km) I’ll change the spark plugs.
Spark plugs are replaced due to overheating and loss of efficiency. Since there’s no overheating, as I drive 80% on electric power, they’re fine.
