They’ve been writing about this for a while now. How will it turn out? We’ll see. Stellantis’s policy is a mystery.
One of the main ideas is to return DS to Citroën, which would reduce costs and keep DS alive.
Hopefully DS is useful and distinctive enough to keep faith with, even if it gets brought back into Citroën. In fact that may be positive having a wider dealer network - which for me was a big consideration. I think there are only four in the whole of Scotland. For me the car (DS4) was nicer than the equivalent Mercs and BMW I looked at - which seemed quite boring. Noty sure about reliability - though most new cars with lots of tech / fancy features seem to be prone to problems (my brother had a high-end Merc that had all sorts of gremlins)
When DS was part of Citroën’s lineup, the dealership network was also limited to large locations. Local Citroën dealers didn’t carry DS.
When I bought my DS new last year the sales manager told me they had 2 years to turn things around otherwise the DS part of the dealership will be closing.
It’s only been there for two years.
The same dealership is now also Alfa Romeo, and he has since told me the DS side of things will most likely be going sometime 2026 and they’ll be concentrating on Alfa going forward.
Sales for DS just never really took off, at least not at this dealership..
