Engine auto stop function

Hi everyone I’ve had my 24 reg DS7 for 3 months and had the battery replaced already!!!
Is there a way to permanently disable the engine auto stop function, at the moment I have to go into the cars vehicle setting every time I start the car to disable this function and find it very annoying… I’m 67 so plz keep it simple for me..,thanks

You are not alone,
I’m on my 4th 12v battery in 9 months.
DS have no thoughts why this is happening.
There’s clearly an issue with the 12v batteries on these cars.
My car is back and fore the dealership constantly looking for an answer.

So far I’ve had the dealership look at it countless times, a technician from DS UK Technical has looked at it and even a technician sent over from France, none of them can explain what’s going on.

There are no error codes on the car and their systems aren’t finding any faults codes, my issue was only picked up when I took the car in for the keyless entry & welcome lights to be checked as they were only working now and then, so part of the investigation was checking the batteries, that’s when they found the battery failing, but even and thought that was why those features were not working correctly, but after changing the batteries the issue with the keyless entry & welcome lights is still there.

So it now seems the car has two separate issues, the keyless entry / welcome lights and the battery depleting so often.

The last battery was fitted 2 weeks ago, I have to take it back in 2 weeks time to be checked over again.
The keyless entry & welcome lights is an ongoing issue and still being looked into.

Curiously, when they tested the last battery before fitting two weeks ago, it was showing as already faulty straight from the manufacturer, the technician commented that DS use recycled batteries in all their new cars, not sure how much truth is in this, but if its true it could be why they are seeing so many batteries fail on their new cars ?

Hello Trevor,

From what I have managed to find so far, the only “easiest” way is to change the profile to run in “Sport” mode, if you have automatic gearbox. In case of manual I’ve heard there is a trick to press clutch when the engine is just starting and that disables start&stop until you unplug the car battery.
Other than that, if you want to get rid of it, the only way is an ECU specialist. This will void warranty and I am sure you would not want that.

Best regards
