HELP HELP HELP
ANYONE have any idea about this error?..the engine at the Ds7 hybrid 4x4 300 go purchased a few months ago is starting hard, goes perfectly for a few seconds than is cutting power…again and again.
The message is Engine Fault.
We have changed Aux battery, the alternator belt and auxiliary, inspected the sensor for rpm from engine…no issues there.
The message on diag says Alternator, but the Alternator is moving ok, no issues in rotating it by hand.
The DS service from here is out of ideas, no clue what to do.
Please help if someone experienced this or if they can recommend any to find the error.
In electric mode works perfectly, only when needs to start engine does this.

At the beginning of the video I can hear that the starter does not sound very well, at least compared to my cars with 1.6 Puretech.
What is the error DTC code for the Alternator?

Alternator fault and need to be changed.

Very much doubt it’s a special DS alternator, have you thought about one from a salvaged Citroën, Peugeot?

Alternator with labor cost? I would just rather replace it myself.
For sure Alternator itself does not cost so much. At least Central Europe/Baltic it costs around 250.

I was told by the technician at my dealership the alternator on my E tense was a bit different to a conventional one as it stores a certain amount of power , not sure how much truth is in that ?
Considering hybrid solution, most likely it is true. I have not tampered with alternator yet, as there was no need, but out of curiosity I will check that soon.
