Hi I have had my DS7 since new in 2019 and had the extended warranty ongoing. The 3 dealerships closest to me have closed and now have a choice of travelling between 80-120 miles to the closest DS dealer. Is it possible to have the car serviced by a Citroën garage closer and not void the DS extended warranty?
Hi Paul is your DS7 a hybrid. You maybe ok with a petrol or diesel. I know they have to have qualified technicians to work on hybrids.
I will be interested to hear how you get on with your extended warranty though. My car has been in the DS dealership for 16 weeks now. The original warranty ran out while it was there and i have an extended warranty too. The problem.being the extended warranty doesnt seem to be worth the paper its written on. Apparently it only covers you for 1hr of diagnostics and doesnt cover water ingress amongst other things.
Bought my DS4 E Tense last September new, it obviously came with the DS 3 year warranty, when I asked about the DS extended warranty the sales guy said there was a choice between a DS extended warranty or the dealerships own extended warranty, but I could purchase either one as the time got closer to the standard warranty running out.
The cost was pretty much the same I think ?
He did mention that their own extended warranty covered more than the DS extended warranty but we didnt go into detail at that time.
I did take out a service plan, again this the dealerships own service plan, it worked out a lot cheaper than paying per service.
I believe you can use any VAT registered garage for your servicing and it doesn’t effect your warranty, as long as they use genuine DS parts.
Thanks for your reply Mark.Mine is a diesel. I have been happy with the Warranty except up to recently. I have had the rear lights replaced 2 times because of water ingress. Rear suspension bushes changed last year. Since last year I have been waiting 6 months+ for a replacement Infotainment unit as the Sat Nav will not pick up Satellite and when using only shows me either in the Alantic Ocean or when inserting an address it shows and takes me round France roads!!
I have found it frustrating getting the right help from DS Customer Care certainly not as advertised as luxury motor cars and after care.
It is at last due to be installed this week but do have to travel 125 miles to the Cardiff DS dealership as I wouldn’t go to the Crawley dealership having had the worst experience of any previous garages in 60+ yrs of owning cars.
Hi Jactac thanks for your information. I too had the service contract arrangement but they lost the DS side of business but still have the Citroën side of business. So I hope they will be able to still service the car as the contract runs out in March. The car has only done 26100 miles.
Shame as I love the car and what it offers especially the individual designs and different from so many other cars on the road.
Stellantis seem to have some serious issues, especially with their technical support team. I think keeping a car for 16 weeks and counting just to fix the voice activation system is excessive to say the least.
Stellantis if put a formal complaint in against their own technical team they were that bad. I belive Jules Tilstone the Stellantis DS MD has now got involved so hopefully things will happen.
