Hi, sorry if this has been asked before.
Had our 2020 DS7 E-TENSE 4x4 for a 5 weeks now. When we forst had it we charged overnight and woke up to a fully charged car with 32 miles if electric on the the dash (Quite happy with that) for the last week though it only says 22 miles (Not very happy with that.)
What can have caused the change please? Is it worth going back to the garage or is there a solution please??
The first thing to remember is that the car will just show an estimate - owners of full EV’s often refer to it as the ‘guess-o-meter’. A more accurate measure may be to fully charge and reset the trip meter to see how long the charge will last. Some BEV owners use miles against battery % drop to get a reading.
Another thing is that the range will be greatly affected by weather - the colder/worse the weather the lower the efficiency of the battery.
A final point is that the car will ‘learn’ your driving habits and adjust the estimate - the heavier your right foot the lower the range as speed and harsh acceleration kills range.
If you go onto the DS site there is a tool to show the effects of weather, driving style and speed on range and that will show you how things can change.
There is a ‘style’ to driving a hybrid.
I hope this answers your question and that you enjoy your car.
