My car is the latest model from 2023. Every time I turn on the ignition, it switches to French. I can change it, but the next time I start it, it switches back to French. What can I do about this?
Iām sure I read about this by another owner on here.
Iāll try to find the post.
After changing, is there an option to āSAVEā ?
Itās not always clear⦠this happened to me when the clocks changed⦠then I scrolled down and foundā SAVEā ā¦
Donāt thereās an actual āSaveā to click on.
Iāve had a few occasions where settings have either been lost completely or revert back to āfactoryā settings.
The radio can lose set favourite stations on a regular basis.
It would be great if you could help. Thank you. Unfortunately, there is no option to save, it keeps everything, it only remembers the language, it always starts in French.
Ok, as its an IRIS system like DS4, it may not say āSaveā but there must be an OK or Confirm button somewhere to 'save ā any changes.
Also the settings are linked to each profile, so you need to be using the same profile each time as each setting is linked to an individual profile.
An initial google search brings this up., but you need to set a profile up first.
Its similar of all DS Iris systems., there must be a confirm or OK to touch somewhere.
Hope this points you in the direction?
Note the end comments, specific to DS7 and profiles,
" Note: The DS7 uses user profiles. If your car was recently imported (e.g., from France) or is set to the wrong language persistently, check which user profile is active. You may need to create or edit your own active profile to ensure your language choice permanently saves. [[1]

Iāve tried everything a few times, even been to DS service, but nothing helped. I should probably ask the DS center for an update for the car online, maybe then this amnesia will be solved. but I donāt know how to achieve that, because the service here is unfortunately very poor.
Seems there is a fault as you have tried everything.
A final thought, have you tried a factory reset in the settings menu?
DS Dealers do appear to be hit and miss⦠even here in UK, there are good and bad.
Itās such a shame given DS is a supposed āpremiumā quality brand.
Fortunately my experience has been good. ( I add ⦠.so far)!
Good Luck !
Perhaps leave the settle for a little while, disconnect the battery, leave it settle again for a little while, reconnect the battery ?
Remember to disconnect and reconnect the battery(s) in the correct order.
You could also try setting your language and then disconnect the batteries ?
I have already replaced the 12v battery, but that didnāt help either.
Mmmm, ![]()
I guess it looks like you will now have only one option left, but it will definitely solve your problem.
Learn to speak French.

According to the DS service in PĆ©cs, this head unit should be replaced because they donāt have any problems with a simple update here. They would try to get a disassembled one, but I canāt find one. Can you help?
Eg. here: Surplus Autos Autoradio occasion DS DS7 CROSSBACK 1697047480
But you still need to extract the configuration from your NAC and load it onto the new NAC.
thank you. according to the number this is the good one, this is what the service gave. although I donāt understand anymore that my car is a 2023 facelift, but what you sent is a 2020 one. is it possible that nothing has been updated in this?
Yes, itās possible. The NAC unit itself hasnāt changed; a software and map update might be required. But that can be done by DS_update on PC/MAC using the donorās VIN.
