Interior Ambient Lighting

Hello All, this is my first post to the forum although I joined 5 months ago. I have a technical question.
How do i know if my 2021 DS7 Rivoli 180 has the ambient lighting module fitted. Ive been into the menu, found ambient lighting settings switched it on at set the light intensity at level 5. But nothing happens nothing lights up on the doors etc.
Any advice please

Hey @g4ykv

Have you tried doing this at night? It only comes in when your headlights etc are in and it’s not very bright so you won’t see it in the day.

Hi Alex, I’ve had the DS7 Rivoli from new (19 months now) and must admit I do very little night/darkness driving so can’t say I’ve noticed but i will give it a try over the weekend and let you know the result

Well Alex, i tried the ambient lighting last night at 10.45, in the dark with my lights turned on and unfortunately no joy at all with the internal ambient lighting. I watched a video on YouTube about the DS7 internal ambiet lighting set up. In the video the menu identified it on screen as Ambient lighting and you had the option of colour selection and then the level of brightness. Totally different to mine. In the menu mine is called mood lighting and has no option for colour selection only the level of light. So it looks like my DS7 dosnt have ambient lighting. Shame

Ah right, there are three different types:

  • Ambient Lighting 1
    Door handles and storage compartment light up in white only.
    Your door panels are black plastic.

  • Ambient Lighting 2
    Door handles, storage compartment light up in white only.
    Your door panels also have a pattern, are glossy acrylic and light up in white only.

  • Polyambient Lighting
    Door handles, storage compartment light up in white only.
    Your door panels also have a pattern, are glossy acrylic and colour can be selected via display.

Thanks Alex looks like ive got no.1 just black plastic covers were the ambient lighting should be. You would think for £41k Rivoli model ambient lighting would be installed. Can it be installed by DS has an add on ?

Not officially by the dealership, but if you open up your door panels and the wiring is there, then you could just buy the parts and fit them :slight_smile:

@Dave - would they need turning on with diag? Obviously the polyambient would, but would the plain white ones?

My concern with polyambient is that… It gets disconected by itself.
It happens the same with sport sound through speaker.

Is that usual?
