Welcome to the community, @Mare_Manica !
4 meters doesn’t sound alright.
I haven’t done any extensive tests really, but 40-50 meters are no problem for me.
I have the same 2020 DS7 300 E-tense.
Does both of your fobs get the same result?
yes both fobs are having the same problem. I think it’s a receiver problem on the car, but i don’t know how much it would cost (or how should i search for it).
It is funny because sometimes is working (but hardly working) if i throw my hand around or put it to my head (maybe i’m like an anthena haha).
I have no idea what the cost would be to have the receiver replaced. However, if it were me, I’d probably leave it as is if it’s expensive because I use the keyless all the time anyway.
The receiver has been changed twice on my DS 4 E Tense in the last 9 months.
Technician commented it’s a know issue, with no fix apart from having it changed, luckily my car is still under warranty, apparently they are not cheap to change ?
I’m finding if I press the fob buttons it works from a good distance, but if I use the keyless entry feature I have to be almost at the door for it to open.
I’m in a bit of a debate with DS regarding the 12v batteries.
The main one under the bonnet has been changed 4 times, the one inside (under the arm rest) has been changed once.
I’m currently waiting for the car to go in for its first service, they’ll be checking the batteries again to see if they’re holding out or still depleting.
The main one was changed about 3 weeks ago (4th replacement), the smaller one a few months ago (2nd replacement).
My local dealership are finding that their testing equipment is seeing the battery health on the main battery as failing every time they test it, but I’m not having any errors, or starting issues ect.
I just find it a bit odd that they find a fault but I don’t see any issues ?
How would you go about testing the main one ?
I bought a tester but if I’m honest I’m not sure if the tester is :
A: Faulty
B: Not compatible to test a 12v battery that’s still fitted to the car (even though I can select, "In the Car " & “Out Of The car”, plus I can select battery type, amps ect ect.
OR
C: I’m just not doing it right ?
I always test by using the earthing bond on the cars body and the positive terminal with the battery in the car as I don’t really fancy taking the battery out or fully disconnecting it from the car..
Right now, the most important parameter for me is the internal resistance of the 12V battery. This gives me information about the current battery condition.
I don’t have the same problems as you, so it’s hard to offer any advice.
In my post, I just wanted to point out that the condition of the 12V battery also affects car opening.
