For the past few days, I’ve been getting the message „Lane Assist not working“ on my DS7 (2018 model). Occasionally, I also see a message saying that the radar is not functioning, but this one disappears after a while.
Does anyone have an idea what could be causing this and how I can troubleshoot it? I’d like to try fixing it myself before going to the dealer, as I’ve had bad experiences with them in the past.
I’ve attached a photo of the dashboard with the error message.
I have heard from two people that they had the issue that their DS7 suddenly refused to change direction and kept on driving straight forward, almost causing them to crash. They never came up with a root-cause but I suspect it might have been caused by one of the assistent systems like lane assist or drive assist that was possibly mislead by a faulty sensor. Anybody ever experienced a similar behavior?

You can always, easily, override the steering, so that shouldn’t happen if you just steer the car firmly.
But on the topic, I haven’t experienced that, but what I have experienced is when the car suddenly thinks I should be in the left lane (left turning lane, right hand drive) when a single lane divides to two lanes where the left one is for turning only.
That’s a moment where you need to be on your toes. Clearly a fault in the lane keeping algoritms.
Possible solution provided by me from Peugeot forums. If I am not mistaken, DS and Peugeot use the same solutions:
I had that issue at my friend’s 508. Managed to fix it with the instructions presented below. All of that is necessary to be done in Diagbox.
Make sure the RADAR has adequate parameters (X and Y tilt)
Reset the RADAR module in the “REPAIR” option and all its related errors
Take care of or remove errors in the modules related directly to RADAR (such as NVG)
Go to BSI module → PACK REPAIR → REHABILITATION OF THE VEHICLE DRIVING ASSISTANCE FUNCTION FOLLOWING THE DETECTION OF AN IMPACT (IF THE FUNCTION IS PRESENT ON THE VEHICLE)
If issue persists after the steps above, do the learning ride - option available in RADAR module
[EDIT] As an additional note. If tilt parameters do not change after readjustments and obstacle distance does not change dynamically (you just put your hand next to the radar and see if it calculates the distance), that means the device is most likely faulty or wires require further inspection.
