MyDS App Advice

So, to all of you who have been facing connectivity issues with MyDS App, here is some personal experience that can restore operation to some extent; after having the app stuck for more than two days and after having tried everything to connect by adjusting the licenses back and forth without any success, I decided to delete and re install the app… I know, very simple, everybody knows this :winking_face_with_tongue:, but… before you delete the app, you may create a copy from the “service” tab and when you re install the app to re load the copy, therefore to save your history.

I know this is not a 100% solution but it was the only solution I could find so as not to start everything from scratch. Actually, nowhere in the forums could I find a way how to create a copy of the app, managed to figure out myself , and that is why I am sharing in case anyone would be interested to save whatever can be saved, when this totally unstable app freezes for no reason

The path for the copy is the following:
Go to “Services” and press “More info”. After that go to “My Services” and at “Vehicle data” go to “More information”. At the opening page go at the bottom and press “Manage your data” and then press export.
After re installing the app, you follow the same path for importing data.

Most probably this procedure is obvious for many of you, but it really wasn’t for me, that’s why I was happy to find out and share

Good info :+1:
I’ve recently had a service carried out on my DS 4 E Tense but the App is still showing as “Service Required” .
It also shows the car as being unlocked, yet the car is locked.
Connection is crp.
I’ve thought about deleting the App altogether because its been cr
p from day one if I’m honest.

In fairness the sales guy who sold me my DS said it was useless.
I might trying deleting and and re- installing.

Maybe I’m just lucky, because except for occasional situations (most often after app updates), the app works 100%.
Unfortunately, the car’s inspection must be entered manually. Service visits never update automatically in the MyDS app.

I did get a message on the App yesterday saying something like " Service Update Information Available, contact your dealer" ?

I assumed that was a message to have my dealership put the cars recent service info onto the App.

I just scheduled an appointment through the app. I received the information from them via email with a video attached.

You are very lucky indeed. I have re-installed it several times and it makes no difference. It is easily the worst app in terms of delivering its basic functions of any on my phone.

Just out of interest, does your app always follow the location of your car Ok, so that you can use it to walk you back to it if you left it in an unfamiliar place? Mine doesn’t, it locates the car at the last previous place I left it, before the latest journey. Does your app correctly list all your recent journeys so you can compare and assess your fuel consumption? Mine records only around 30% of them. Does your app actually open as quickly as most of your other important apps, like a bank app? Mine doesn’t. It can take a couple of minutes and then decide it does not know who I am and ask me to log in which takes another couple of minutes.

And yes I asked for help. The Czechs couldn’t get that help from “Paris”. It’s a disgrace, really. You really are lucky.

I drive every day and have only 7 “missing trips” out of 1,200 saved this year. I’m not looking for a car because I always know where it is, so I haven’t checked to find my car but I can send the routes found in the app to the car’s navigation without any problems and “last localisation” works to. App always shows me fuel consumption. I only regret that it doesn’t show energy consumption, as I drive 90% of my routes on electric power.
The app starts and works within 30 seconds. Charging, opening, lights—it all works in the app. I use my_ds and my_citroën app, and both work.
The only problem I have, which happens about once a month, is the inability to access charging data. I get the message “…car out of network ..” What’s strange is that I can turn on the lights or open the car at the same time using the app.
If the application does not work at all you can try deleting the app’s data and memory without uninstalling it from your phone. This can be done in the app’s settings in android phone menu.
…phone settings/app..s/my_ds/memory/…
If you don’t delete them, reinstalling the application will recreate them.

DS UK rang me today to discuss the issues with the App but I missed their call.
I didnt even ring them in the first place, I just clicked no when the App asked if I was enjoying it !
I’ll ring them tomorrow and give them my reasons for saying no .
