Several countries have decided to shut down the 2g networks, starting from 2025. Does anybody know how this will affect the different DS models? Most cars lose their SOS functions for example. I have little to no info about how my DS7 communicates with Stellantis. Will we lose the entire MyDS communication unless we have wifi or Bluetooth connected or has there been made any provisions for 4g communications?
Hi, and welcome to the forum, Thor!
I’ve just been in contact with the Swedish importer and got the response that my 2019 uses 2G/3G, and they said that the car will manage with only 2G. So I’m apparently set until 2027, when the 2G net here is planned to shutdown.
Don’t know about other models though.
My 2021 model DS7 e-tense is still under warranty when Telia/Telenor shuts down the 2g net in Norway next year. My hope is that the importer can provide an upgraded telemetry module, which runs on 4/5g, if possible and if required. But as far as I have noticed, most car manufacturers are still turning a blind eye to this problem, as they have done for 10 years.
Yeah, I also asked them if Stellantis had any plans to remedy the situation but the response was that it wasn’t the car that had changed.
Implicitly meaning that it’s not their problem that network shuts down.
@DSJay how helpful of them!
