New DS7 with some issues

Hello everyone, I’ve been the owner of a new DS7 BlueHDI 130 Performance Line + for a few weeks now and there are a few things that annoy me.

Overall, I think the car is great and I look forward to every ride, but there are some minor things that could be improved.

  1. Wireless CarPlay Audio Delay: There’s sometimes up to a 3-second delay in sound with my iPhone 15 Pro Max. If I connect it with a cable, it works perfectly. However, I don’t want cables hanging around. This really needs to be fixed.

  2. Wireless Charging: Unfortunately, the iPhone 15 Pro Max doesn’t fit into the charging pad, so I can’t use this feature. It’s only half a centimeter too short, and there’s definitely enough space for it. A luxury problem, I know.

  3. Storage Spaces: I don’t know where to put my stuff. It’s frustrating that there are no storage spaces in the car. My key goes into the cup holder, I stick my phone into the slot in front of the gear shift, and maybe tissues in the wireless charging tray. That’s about it. The car has plenty of space, even if it wouldn’t look as clean and neat.

  4. Multimedia Unit: It annoys me that in some places, the back button is not displayed and I have to press the Home button to go back to the main menu, then go into Settings, and then into submenus again. The arrow in the top corner should always be visible. The camera should also start automatically when moving forward, up to a certain speed. It’s annoying because I either have to manually activate the camera through Favorites, or switch to reverse gear and then drive forward. According to the manual, it should automatically work when driving forward.

  5. Adaptive Lighting and Cornering Lights: Unfortunately, I don’t notice any difference, no matter how I drive or how sharply I turn. The low beams don’t change. However, the high beam assist works very well.

  6. MY DS App: I know the app annoys everyone, and even though it’s not great, I’d still like to have remote access via the remote control. Unfortunately, some services don’t work in the app, even though they do in the car. For example, Connect Plus is active in the car, but I can’t see it in the app on my smartphone. I’ve already opened a support ticket about this and hope they can help me out.

I know these are a lot of negative points, but I hope they can be fixed with future updates. The DS7 is really beautiful and well-made; driving it is a lot of fun and very comfortable. After a few adjustments, the Focal sound system also sounds really great.

This is my conclusion after one week with the DS7.

Thanks and Greetings from Germany

Hi Cranky!
Welcome to the forum!

Sounds (and looks) like you have a newer model than me, but some of the quirks never change.

  1. I don’t have the OEM wireless carplay, but I invested in a dongle that works very well. Remarkable that DS put in the worse hardware that is available.
  2. Mine works and fits, but I’m still not using it. I use a seperate magsafe holder that I’ve put on the vents on the drivers left hand side. (https://www.joyroom.com/products/magnetic-wireless-charger-for-iphone). Very easy to place, and makes the phone available at all times while charging.
  3. How about the armrest storage? That’s the biggest f**ing storage space I’ve ever seen in a car. Seriously, I haven’t ever thought that there’s less storage than any other car I’ve had. You really don’t need to take the keys out of your pockets for example.
  4. I can definitely agree about the forward camera. I’ve recently started using the manual camera start in the car menu when entering a parking lot. Keep below 20km/h and it won’t deactivate.
  5. Don’t have any input here, but you’re probably right.
  6. Ds app is crap. Probably the worst app in the history of mankind. Without exaggeration. It’s a joke. Nothing more, nothing less. I don’t think they will ever fix it or make it decent.

Hey, thanks for your feedback.

  1. Yes, maybe that could be a solution to the problem, but I really think it’s a shame that I can’t properly use the existing wireless CarPlay and now have to think about a solution with a separate dongle.

  2. I’ve also thought about a smartphone holder, but I’d like to avoid having cables visible in the car. Plus, I wouldn’t be able to adjust the ventilation properly anymore. On top of that, the smartphone would overheat if I turn on the heating.

  3. The storage in the armrest is huge, you’re right, but unfortunately, it lacks compartments for organization. It’s just one big hole where you’ll never find anything again once you store it there.

  4. This is really poorly thought out. As mentioned, the manual says it should automatically turn on in drive mode, but unfortunately, it doesn’t.

  5. I’ve tried everything, with no success.

  6. This is terrible. The car is otherwise really premium, but this app my son could have done better.

Much Love

On Aliexpress you can find a tray that fits the large storage space. It is the same as for the Peugeot 3008 (pre facelift) Costs about 10-20 Euros
