Hi all DS owners, I have just joined the forum and I am a a fresher with the DS Range having purchased a 71 plate DS7 ETense Opera in Late June of this year from a Citroën Dealership.
Since purchasing the vehicle I seem to have had numerous issues not mechanically but body work wise which was
The plastic external bottom door trims on both passenger and drivers doors were grey colour with the rear doors black.
The lacquered finish on the wheels bubbling and peeling.
The DS logo chrome plate on the internal door cill drivers side is rusting.
And to cap all this, now one of the rear lights is full of water with condensation in the glass,
No cracks or damage to the glass apparent.
With all this I just wonder what next will happen.
Has any one else suffered similar issues?
Can I just say though despite the problems the dealership has been spot on by dealing and correcting the issues, accept for the chrome door plate which they say this would occur as it gets scratched when entering and exiting the vehicle, which I find hard to accept.
I’ve just took ownership, 2 days ago a new of a DS4 Performance Plus E Tense.
Its a beautiful car inside & out, but already there are little annoyances.
Driver door outside trim popped off had to be reset by the dealership.
Drivers door inside trim popped off had to be reset by dealership.
All of wheel nut covers ( the black plastic covers) were faulty with some sort of coloured liquid sprayed on them that wont come off, new set ordered by dealership.
Welcome lights very hit & miss that they actually “welcome you” or not.
Central locking same as the welcome lights, sometimes the handles pop out sometimes they dont.
When putting the car in reverse or using the front wipers/screenwash the fan speed inside the car increases to higher speed for a few moments ?
Not sure if this is a fault or something the car does automatically, the dealership did not know so were contacting DS.
Phone button on the steering wheel does nothing at all ?
Not impressed with the delay gear changes with the auto box, wish I had concentrated a bit more with this when I took it for a test drive.
Thats enough for now, but my head is already telling me theres going to be additions to this list.
@ Ash.
A lot of cars these days have condensation in the plastic lens, but certainly not to the extent of water filling the lens.
Spoke with parts dept yesterday for front mud flaps, apparently parts for the DS4 are like gold dust, with many being on back order.
Stellantis have parted ways with many suppliers for some reason ?
Our local dealership have had to cancel basic servicing for some owners due to lack of available parts.
Maybe I can clear up some of your points
4/5: I saw you posted a new topic about this, I’ll get back to you in there
6: I don’t know the reason behind it, but the car will temporarily switch to recirculating air mode while in reverse. All goes back to the way it was when you go out of reverse.
7: depending on how you connected your phone to the car, it will do different things. Via Bluetooth you will get the list of recent calls on your instrument cluster or HUD. Assuming you’ve allowed this on your phone. If your phone is connected through Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, you will switch to the phone app in there.
8: gear shifts will be most smooth when your battery is charged sufficiently. Because then it will be able to fill up the gaps of the combustion engine with the electric motor. Although I’ve got an older model, your experience may differ because I believe the DS4 is shipped with a dual clutch transmission nowadays.
Hi ,
Thanks for your reply.
6. I’ve found some info online about the in fan speed increasing, and like you say its a feature of the car when reversing and when operating the wipers, apparently its to stop exhaust fumes or smells from washer fluid entering the cabin.
7. I’ve also just noticed that when pressing on the the button
phone button on the steering wheel it does indeed show recent call on the HUD.
I’ll need to see if I can get it to show on the cluster ?
8. My son has the new Vauxhall Astra Ultimate which uses the same gear box as the DS4 , he says his gear change is also a bit stretched.
then you could consider using Apple CarPlay or Android Auto depending on your brand of smartphone.
if you want it on the cluster then you have no option but to disable the HUD entirely (which is annoying I know, same goes for the trip info) by swiping down the top bar of the infotainment screen.
You could always create a shortcut on the infotainment screen or the Smart Touch screen to the Phone app of the car (or go there manually). Then you have the phone lists available on the big screen.
Final thing then about point 8, even though your DS4 edition is the Performance Line, it’s still a car mainly focussed on comfort and relaxation just like any other edition, so I’ve learnt to just take it easy and enjoy the ride in tranquility
So let me me see if i have this right before I spend another two days trying to achieve what now looks to be unachievable !
Pressing the phone button on the steering wheel will only bring up the most recent calls which are displayed on the HUD, no options to see contact list on the HUD ?
The HUD has to be completely disabled to put the phone menu onto the cluster ?
If so, will the display on the cluster just show recent calls (like it did on the HUD) or will it show the phones contact list ect ?
If its just recent calls it may as well stay on the HUD.
In regards to the trip info, I already have that showing on the cluster, even with the HUD activated ?
Or do you mean the trip info has to go as well to get the phone info onto the cluster ?
My son installed the phone to the car but I’m not really sure which route he took to connect it ?
Correct. Alternatively to reach a specific contact you could give the voice recognition a try but your mileage may vary
Also correct, the car doesn’t provide you with a contact list anywhere other than the Phone app on the infotainment screen.
True you can pick a so called ‘widget’ on the cluster with the trip info instead. I was referring to pulling up the trip info using the button on the right stalk, while looking at something else. Not related to the phone list thing.
To check the way your phone is connected, simply pull down the top bar of the infotainment screen and select ‘Connections’. You’ll see the list of connected devices. There you can switch between Bluetooth or CarPlay/AndroidAuto as long as your device supports it.
