As the title sugests, i have a bit of an issue with the door lock on the left side passenger door. Long story short, the door lock motor is faulty and the door lock won’t release, but here’s the real kicker, the child safety lock is also active so opening it from the inside is also out of the question. The dealer said opening might entail damaging the door face, in which case there would be a very hefty replacement price. This being said, i was hoping of running into someone unlucky enough to have a similar issue but found a better solution. Thanks in advance!
Do you have the keyless entry ?
The locks on my 2023 DS4 E Tense have a mind of their own, it’s lottery if they lock or unlock.
I’ve read that with the proximity keyless entry system you can have all doors locking/unlocking or you can set each door to unlock independently of the other doors.
Just wandering if you this system have you set the passenger door to lock unintentionally without the others ?
Just a thought ?
thanks for the reply, yes i do have keyless entry, unfortunately i haven’t noticed any individual looking and unlocking, they all lock and unlock regardless of which door handle i’m using. Maybe its just an e-tense feature/bug or something specific to the DS4.
Hi, is it front or rear door?
If rear door, you may be able to take the trim off to access the lock directly. If it’s the dront door, then its nearly impossible, since the door trim is fastened behind where it closes against the dashboard.

Dear lord you’re a lifesaver, it is indeed the rear door. You can’t imagine my relief right now, the thought of having to rip it open was weighing down on me like a boulder. Hopefuly there is a way to acces the lock once the trim is off since the guide doesn’t specifically tackle this issue but hey, thats what “exploratory surgery” is for, right? . Thank you so much!
No problem! I hope you are able to remove the door trim easily
Please let us know how you get on, take photos!
Since i have the finesse of a wilderbeast i will probably have to rely on someone who has actually done this type of thing before. The problem was, we have so few DS cars in my country nobody has any ideea how to aproach them when something goes wrong, even the guys at the dealership/service seemed a bit clueless when i brought them the doorlock problem. Even so, if i ever get the chance to take any photos i’ll be sure to post them here. Just don’t get upset with me if they end up keeping me outside of the service area
Haha. At the end of the day, it’s basically the same build etc as a Peugeot/Citroën. The DS7 uses the same platform as the Peugeot 5008 and C5 Aircross, so under the skin they are the same cars
I had an Aircross as a loaner a few days in december, and it did not feel as the same car.
It sounded like a diesel but was in fact a petrol, and inside it felt like a small budget car.
But I guess you can perform miracles with interior high end materials and top of the line sound proofing.
