I own a DS7 Crossback E-Tense 225 (model '22) and my company has a DS7 BlueHDi 130 (model 24). We have trouble with both cars. The diesel stopped working and the motor control light came up. We took it to the DS Store in Munich and they sent us away - “We have no time, come back in 3 weeks”
For the E-Tense, I received a recall from DS Automobiles (something at the rear axle). Tried to book an appointment with the “MyDs”-App - no reaction. Send a mail to the DS Store - no reaction. Called the DS-Store. They (again) told me, they have no time.
Finally made an appointment at the next DS Store (Augusburg), 50 kms away from my home. They ordered the parts needed for the recall and gave me an appointment. This has been cancelled today because they cancelled their contract with DS Automobiles with immediate effect due to “economic reasons”. What the heck is going on here? Is Stellantis in financial trouble and lets their customers down?
I complained by email with the German “customer service” and all I got back so far were excuses and platitudes.
If Stellantis wants to establish a “premium brand” with DS Automobiles, it looks to me as if they are still on the learning curve …
If this doesn’t get resolved to my satisfaction, I will get rid of both DS7 and turn to another brand, one which takes customer service more serious than DS.
I’ve been waiting 5 months for DS to sort out ongoing issues with my brand new DS4 E Tense.
Premium brand , yeah right ok
I would never recommend DS to anyone, but thats only based on my experience.
The BlueHDi has been repaired now, finally after 3 weeks. The cause for the engine light and the “emergency program” was said to be “bad oil quality”. Well, what should I say? It is the oil the manufacturer put in … We have been encouraged to do “more long distance rides” to avoid this. What a joke: The car is used for long distance (> 50 kms per ride) most of the time. What this means to us: DS7 BlueHDi is of no use to us anymore. We’ll get rid of that car ASAP.
Second case: Manufacturer recall of my DS7 E-Tense. Since January (!!!) I am trying to find a dealer in Munich to fix this. The DS Store Munich did not respond, I had to make an appointment in Augsburg. This has been cancelled a few days ago because the dealer cancelled its contract with DS Automobiles. Complained with the German customer service - no response. Complained with the customer service in France. They replied and said I should contact the DS Store in Munich. Do ya remember? This is what I tried since January … I am really fed up with this bull***t!
Second update, March 14.:
Managed to get an appointment in Munich for March 24 to fix the recall at the rear axle. This appointment has been cancelled a few days later: “Sorry, we do not get the neccessary parts and DS cannot tell us when it will be available. We call you.”
What more can I say about the DS customer service? They’re recalling cars and don’t have the parts handy? Häh?
I’ve had pretty much the same response over here in the UK.
Apparently some parts are difficult to get hold of because Stellantis have changed suppliers for some parts.
DS are trying to push their brand as a Premium vehicle builder to compete with the likes of BMW, Mercedes, ect .
I’m sorry, but in my opinion it’s a lost cause, theres just no way DS build a Premium quality car.
Update may 17th: I have gotten an appointment now on May 23rd for the callback issue on the rear axle. Wow. 5 months after I got notified.
On the positive side of things I like to mention that the dealer I bought the E-Tense from processed a warranty issue within a week: Water in the left rear light (which seems to be a known problem). Light replaced, all fine again. The dealer is Autocenter Stauner in Schwandorf, excellent service.
A pity that I can’t get the callback done there, too. It must be done at a “DS salon”. And the one in Munich is messing up everything since January …
It is very hard to believe …
I brought my DS7 to the garage yesterday and got it back today. Despite the fact that I had to wait more than one hour before the paperwork was ready, I noticed that the steering wheel position is wrong now. It is Friday afternoon and they closed the shop when I left, so the story is not yet finsihed. I will definetly not drive around with a steering wheel position like this …
They probably adjusted the tracking from just one side, but there could be bigger problems, behind the steering wheel there is an angle sensor so the car knows its going straight, if this is outside of the technical limits, it could mess with your ABS/Traction control systems and cause all sorts of handling issues.
In my opinion, It needs rectifying as soon as possible.
I am sorry to hear that, that performance is really not premium-worthy.
I am interested in buying a new DS7 1.5HDI, basically because they are currently offered for a very reasonable price while many other manufacturers refuse to build new Diesels at all, but I also like the cosy interior and comfortable seats.
But I have heard so many bad stories about the poor build and product quality and the bad service so I am really struggling to make the deal. The dealer who offers the car is almost 100km away from here so frequent visits are a no-go.
Besides that I am a little shocked from two german DS7 owners who reported that their DS7 suddenly refused to change direction and just kept on driving straight forward almost causing them to crash. Unfortunately they both did not report how it ended and what was the root cause. I suspect it might have been caused by the lane assist or Drive Assistant, but that is just a guess. The Pallas I have on my mind has neither of the two feature.
I have also heard that the newest generation of the 1.5HDI consumes quite a lot of Ad-Blue (up to 6 liters per 1000km!), is that something you can confirm?
I have the E-Tense 225, my colleague in the company the BlueHDI 1.5. We are both happy, can’t confirm excessive AdBlue consumption, my colleague says it’s “normal” (he had several Volkswagen before and that was in the same range).
Hope this helps,
Best,
Volker
(P.S.: My steering wheel position has been fixed now).
thanks for the feedback. So you and your colleague are reconciled with DS for now? Or are you still planning to get rid of them?
That Ad-Blue issue seems to have been introduced with the implementation of the latest emission-standard (I believe EUROD 6e) last fall/MY 25. According to your first post your colleagues’ is a MY24, so possibly it is still EURO 6d.
