Problems with the firmware update (incompatible version & possibly expired certificate)

Hello Community,

I’m a big fan of French cars, especially my DS 7 Crossback! However, I’m stuck with a frustrating issue and really hope someone can help me out.

I want to update my system’s firmware from 31.09.46.62_NAC-r0 to 42.03.33.42_NAC-r0 via a USB stick.
I followed all the instructions using the DS Update App and prepared the USB stick correctly (I even tried 5 different USB sticks).

What I’ve tried so far:

  1. Deleted the license file and connected my DS to a hotspot.
  2. Disabled Bluetooth on my phone.
  3. Followed every guide I could find in various forums.

Despite all this, the update never works. The system keeps showing the message:
“Version not compatible with hardware.”

Could the certificate have expired?

Someone mentioned that the certificate might have expired, which could cause this issue.
But how is that possible if everything was done via the DS Update App?
If the certificate is indeed the problem, how can I check it and get a new one?

My Questions:

  1. Has anyone else faced this issue?
  2. How can I confirm if the certificate has expired, and how can it be renewed?
  3. What else can I try to make the update work?

I really want this update to improve my system, and I’m getting frustrated that it’s not working despite following all the instructions.

Please, I need your advice!
Thanks in advance for your support!

Hi @Kenan_Artiran,

Could you try downloading the 42.01.72.32_NAC-r0 WAVE3 firmware below?

It is the firmware between your current and the latest.

https://majestic-web.mpsa.com/nas/eu/mjb00/NAC_EU/ovip-int-firmware-version/PSA_ovip-int-firmware-version_42-01-72-32_NAC-r0_NAC_EUR_WAVE3.tar

Pop this on your USB with the license.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex,

yes I tried also that. The same…

Nobody can help me.

Best
Kenan

Just curious, why are you trying to update? Is there something specific you are having problems with? The updates don’t contain anything new, just internal bug fixes which rarely affect usability.

If you are trying to update maps, then that is a separate issue.
