Is a common issue that is solved by making 3D angles of wheels and set CONVERGENCE to ZERO
By default is not aligned by DS, God knows why is NOT.
All night rained and stopped, Morning I came to work on electric mode. Unfortunately, my e-tense 300 rear tyres slided two times. Next day , again all night rained and morning I came to work with all parameters the same except driving mode set to COMFORT. Car was so stable.
Unfortunately, mine is quite unstable in any driving mode when the road conditions are below āgoodā.
Maybe I should pay the diagnostics fee to have it checked out.
Tires are crucial for stability. If you have e-Primacy tires, they need replacing. Theyāre useless. The only good conditions for these tires are +15 degrees Celsius or higher and full sun.
Only then can we discuss suspension alignment or repair.
just got my etense last week. i think i notice this too, it only happens when rear wheel is being used? perhaps something to do with the torque of the electric motor as well. are you planning on getting this fixed by dealer? I might try the wheel alignment method posted before and see if that helps because going through dealer shoulds like headache
Iām not very familiar with that term. Iād guess no.
But regardless, e-Primacy with a proper suspension must still be better that normal tires with broken suspension.
If the tires are slipping, thereās a problem with traction, but not necessarily with the suspension. Comfort mode changes the ESPās operating mode, which can improve traction. There shouldnāt be significant tire slippage in any driving mode.
Letās not lump traction issues that are present one day and absent the next into a thread about repairing the DS7 suspension.
Iām aware.
But I also have the skipping of the rear when driving over tiny lumps in the road, just as OP has.
Could obviously be two separate issues of course.
If your car bounces and slides itās 50/50 suspension damage or bad shock absorbers.
Checking shock absorbers is easier, so thatās where to start. Simply measure their effectiveness. But to do this, itās a good idea to test them in all driving modes if is the active suspension.
Iāll try and see if I can feel any difference between the modes. I usually only use Electric and Comfort.
But ultimately it will be up to the shop to figure it out I think.
On winter roads it can be really scary and Iām not usually a very passive driver. But with this car I see myself getting passed by lorries during winter conditions.
This rear suspension debuted in the Peugeot 407. It was also featured in the P508, Citroƫn C6 and Citroƫn C5 x7. The P508 RXH Hybrid4 had an electric motor in the rear, but its power output was around 30 hp. The DS7 E-Tense 4x4 has much more, and that might be the problem.
The main problem seems to be the lower trailing arms. If the rubber is too soft, the entire suspension works harder in the e-tense 4x4 and wears out faster. This isnāt the case in diesel, petrol engines or e-tense 225, because the rear axle is always dragging. Depending on the situation, the e-tense 4x4 is either pushing or dragging.
Perhaps some polyurethane bushings in lower trailing arms would solve this problem for longer?
One polyurethan bushing (rear one, two needed) for lower trailing arm is present here:
Number of the front one is 5131.C4 or 9801049980. But there is no polyurethane version.
Hello allā¦
Iāve owned my ds7 e tense 300 for just over a week now and I have noticed this skipping effect when driving over bumps and drains in the road, I contacted DS and they said I need to get the bushes and the suspension arms replaced as this was a recall on some newer models, they told me ds did offer a contribution towards the fix but that has since stopped (typical) I do have the 3 month warranty that was supplied by the dealer I bought it from although I am concerned that they are going to fix it themselves rather than ds who obviously have experience in this problem, I also have a small but annoying problem that the phone cubby flap in the centre console doesnāt stay shut. Iām seriously considering returning this car for a full refund as Iām not convinced they will fully sort the problem out.
I really like the car but after spending nearly Ā£20k on a car thatās only covered 19k miles, i shouldnāt be looking at a Ā£600 repair bill within a week of ownership.
Is there anything else I should be concerned about.?
Thanks.
