So I’m having difficulty getting my ds app to allow me to control the cars climate from my phone, Ive done all the relevant things and the app is connected but it just keeps saying I need to do several journeys of 20 mins to activate the service, I’m pretty sure I’ve completed these journeys but every time I try and set a schedule to warm the car up it just says command failed try again.
Any advice please.

The myDS app is awful.
Mine tells me the car is open when it’s locked, it requires a service when its already been done.
It takes forever to load and connect to the car .
When I bought the car new last year the sales guy said it’s not very good and many of his customers had given up on it.
I had the car serviced about 6 weeks ago, the mileage was 2407 miles (1st service), the app is now sending me reminders saying next service is due in 12 months or 2407 miles ![]()
It keeps sending a reminder to get the service done as it thinks I’ve already reached the mileage.
Even the service department at my dealership have tried to get it to run better but they’ve given up.
I had 3 years connected services free when I bought the car but I definitely wont be paying to carry on using the services when it runs out, it’s just cr*p.
My previous Volvo had a similar app, it was bang on, never failed to connect and using it to turn on features in the car was simple, it never failed to work.
Traffic and maps services are paid for three years. The rest are free and valid for 10 years.
As long as the app will still work then, because changes are currently rapid.
As already been stated, the app is useless at best.
In addition to that, we have the 2g/3g network shutdowns approaching, if not already accomplished in many places.
I’m pretty sure mine uses 3g, and when that is gone the app will be even more useless than its current useless state.
Yeah so i updated my car yesterday but it still says i need an update when i connct with app. This is absolutely hopeless. Such a shame cause it is such a cool gadget. Also it takes like 5 tries before i can set the charge time later (lower tariffs jere from 2300 at night). Interested to know if it is actually the software or the poor connection from the car
It’s difficult to say.
The app itself is of such bad design that the poor software could very well be the only issue needed for constant error messages, but the connection has also proven to be really unstable as well, and so none of them can be excluded from blame.
I stopped from trying to activate the pre-heating a long time ago. It just never works.
I think they’re currently only transmitting data over the 4G network. They’ll be phasing out the 3G network by 2024.

I’ve completely given up on the app too as, like you, it claims that I need to do several journeys of 20+ miles for it to activate - despite having done such a 20+ mile journey countless times ![]()
I’d also like to give up on the software update I’m continually pestered to do each time I leave the car as the update always fails to install, but I can’t as I’m prompted to do it EVERY time I switch-off the engine. Aaaarrrggh!!!
I got this reply from the Swedish general importer when I asked them about the network shutdown a year ago:
Your vehicle operates on 2G/3G.
Stellantis currently has no plans to upgrade these vehicles.
This is because it is not the vehicle’s capabilities that have changed.
I’ve contacted DS UK numerous times regarding the app, they (DS UK) are just as bad as the app.
I also installed a wifi booster at home to see if that helped, it didnt.
It takes numerous attempts to do anything n the car via the app.
I’ve just given up on it.
It came with some free connected services when I bought the car . but I wont be renewing the subscription when the free subscription runs out.
The paid subscription only covers the traffic service and map updates, vide the car navigation, and that works flawlessly. What you’re referring to, the app functionality, is free.
I take it all back…it’s working fine now😆

My app has actually been working quite ok since they changed the antenna module.
Module was changed due to some fault that turned all screens black until 12V battery was disconnected.
I use it daily to set preconditioning and unlock/lock car.
I believe that DS4 MY2024 uses a 4G modem? At least thats the only information i can find. Wouldn’t be surprised if DS uses one 2G/3G modem for the connected services and a 4G for media services (4G is displayed in the center display)…
3G worked everywhere, 4G didn’t when they designed it. They just didn’t anticipate it would be phased out.
