So I’ve had my DS4 for six months or so, but I’ve never had motivation yet to figure out what the 5" Smart Touch Screen can do. I beleive it is customisable to provide easy access to things on the infotainment - but I find it is fairly easy to use the infotaintment screen directly, though I don’t do much other than switch between nav, climate control and music.
I actually use it for the shortcuts, would have loved for it to have extended functionality like skipping tracks, control the infotainment system etc
With the built in nav you can zoom in and out, pan and write adressen.
Thanks. I’ll a look at it - the nav zooming is something that might be much easier from that small screen. For skipping tracks, I just use the button on the steering wheel.
Just in case somebody else looking for info on this functionality that most of us ignore, there isn’t much that explains the Smart Touch operation in the manual. But this video explains its operation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rhuf6NYGVfg
The video states you dont need to take your eyes off the road to select which feature you want.
I dont agree with this because even though you can touch the smart screen and have it move around on the main screen, you still need to look at the main screen to see if you’ve moved onto the feature you require.
I was really looking forward to using the “Smart” feature but I dont use it all.
Its a bit of useless bling.
