Speed Limit Warning Conundrum

I tried searching on this question, but don’t see anything.

I have a 2024 DS4 and have been trying to figure out if I can disable the audio chime when exceeding the speed limit. I saw a function within the settings for “navigation” that seemed to toggle between audio/visual and visual for alerts, but that doesn’t seem to affect it.

Or is this a setting you can’t change?

Thank you for any help.

I believe from 2024 onwards you cannot disable the speed limit chime, and I think it’s not just limited to DS, my son has a 2024 Vauxhall and he cant disable it on his car either, which is basically a DS but in different clothes.
My DS4 is late 2023 and I can disable it altogether or leave it on but it only sounds once I think if I exceed the limit, it definitely doesn’t chime constantly if the limited is exceeded on my car.

I had a 2024 loan DS4 last week and the chime was constantly sounding if I exceeded the speed limit.

Great, thank you. I am coming to learn that this is a new rule for the EU as of mid-2024. I have a French lease on a 2024 DS4 for a few months and wanted to buy one, and now that I am learning this, I may buy one that is 2023. I find it to be quite annoying!

I’ll never buy a car newer than 2023 then.
Goddamn ‘big brother’ shite.

They’re all around us :alien:

I have a DS4 pure gasoline purchased at the end of 2023. In my case, it only flashes as a warning on the display without any sound signal.
I recently drove a Mercedes GLC latest model. It had an option to turn it off but only while driving. After you turn it off and on again, it turns on.

The 2024 DS4 courtesy car I’m driving at the movement has the chime constantly going off even if slightly over the speed limit, I hate it.
My 2023 car just flashes up the limit if going over, that’s more than enough warning for me to slow down, I don’t need that annoying chime each time.
I don’t think I could live with it if it were my own car, it would have to go.
