Starting the AC from the app

Hi all!

A question about starting the AC from the app: There is no option for selcting the desired temperature, does it just use whatever the last setting in the car was?

Thanks!

Br,

Welcome, @vidar-m !
You are correct, you can’t set the temp.
According to the manual the pre-conditioning temp is always “approx. 21 C”.

Heres what it says on the official DS app site.

"Enjoy optimum comfort from the moment you step inside your vehicle, regardless of the outside temperature. From your smartphone, pre-heat or pre-cool the cabin of your DS though the MyDS app* – whether you’re plugged in or not. If your vehicle is plugged in, the remaining range and state of charge of your battery won’t be diminished.

The E-TENSE Remote Control service also gives you the ability to plan pre-conditioning slots to suit your schedule, ensuring you can make the most of your DS in all circumstances.

*Air conditioning remote commands are subjected to eligibility."

As Jay says, its nonsense as you cant alter the temp up or down, its basically useless on warm days.

However , there might be a bit of a grey area here.
The DS app site says my car is not compatible to allow pre-conditioning at all !
Your Vehicle ([VIN CENSORED]************) is not compatible.
Yet I can pre-condition, via the app, but it dont allow to set a temp figure, and I think thats what it’s telling me, pre-condition yes, setting a temp not compatible.

I’ve a feeling it does allow it on newer models of DS though, because my son can set a temp on his early 2024 build Vauxall Astra via the Vauxhall app, which is identical to the DS app and basically the same car as the DS, both made by Stellantis on the same platform.

After many months of going back and fore my dealership and having DS customer care involved, I’ve now been informed that theres some big differences in how the Welcome lights, Keyless entry & Alarm system operates on my late 2023 DS4 , compared to the exact same model and spec as an early 2024 build cars operates.
My car falls into build date up to 30/9/2023, the next build date starts 01/10/2023 onwards to mid 2024.
By just one day, the Keyless entry, Welcome lights and Alarm system on my car operates slightly different to the cars with build dates from 01/10/2023 onwards.

If you look at the online manuals and select the correct build date your car falls into compared to the next build date you’ll notice subtle differences in the small print and how some features have changed in the way they function.

The correct build date is critical to how some features may change, operate or be added/removed altogether.

Thank you both, gentlemen!
For now, I’ll just chalk this up to owning a French car again

Yeah,
I was getting proper stressed and annoyed that my DS wasnt doing what I thought it should be compared to other ones with the same spec.
My dealership didnt even realise there were subtle changes , we’ve been in & out of the service dept for over 6 months trying to work out why the Keyless Entry/Welcome lights and the alarm were operating slightly differently to others of the same spec and year.

It’s only the last couple of weeks that it was noticed there were changes made on build dates.
The manuals are not very clear on this though.

This may sound daft but check out a Vauxhall manual , they are far clearer and both Vauxhall & Ds cars are running on the same platforms.
it was only after doing this that I noticed the changes in build years that explained the differences I was seeing.
I had to explain this to my service dept because they thought there was a fault on my car.
So even a main dealer isnt fully up to date with changes or how a certain feature should operate.
