Hello everybody! Is it plug n’ play to put electric power seats (second hand from a another DS7 Crossback) in my DS7 Crossback with manual seats? Or do I have to get another wiring harness and program something in the car?
If I remember correctly electric seats always come with massage function which is controlled from infotainment so simple swap may be not enough.
Second thing is that wiring harness under Your manual seat will be very different, it will only have airbag pins and heating but electric seats for sure have some additional wires at least for power supply for the motors.
Without schematics it’s hard to tell but I really doubt that it’s only seat to replace.
Could I maybe do the oppsit? A manual conversion. Put the manual rails/base on the new seats. I dont care about the electric adjustment, but I want the alcantara seats with thigh support.
I think that every seat has the same construction and foams under the fabric that You sit on so I would personally go just for replacing the fabric on Your current seat.
It’s way safer than replacing the whole seat - I think.
It would be best if You replace fabric on all the seats because it may look weird if one seat differs from the others.
As far as I remember only Opera seats are a bit different because it has more padding but I think that this additional padding is placed not on the seat foam but on the fabric itself – but honestly I don’t know.
