Hey guys, I hope you all are doing well!
You all well know the issue with DS7 Crossback taillights… So I do have it as well with my right one, tried to do some restoration, but I still have an issue…
So I just found this on AliExpress:
€458.44 | Car LED Taillight for Citroën DS7 Full of Chrome Reverse rear Brake light with Turn Signal
Did someone order the taillights from AliExpress?
I got the videos from seller, and seems good and legit.
Yes, it’s common issue on DS7 Crossback. Also, there was a factory recall for tail lights.
Some smart guy marked my tail lights as OK in Belgium or Luxembourg, so I don’t have rights for a recall now, and brand new (only right side tail light) is about 750EUR.
Mine was fixed free of charge even though the recall period was over and my car already had been in for control of the lights a year earlier (I didn’t own the car at that time).
The only right thing to do for DS (or any car maker) is to always fix their own screw-ups free of charge, whatever the time.
The older Mk4 Vauxhall Astra used to have a similar issue with the tail lights, but it was more of a condensation issue opposed to leaks.
There were constant call backs to change the foam gaskets that sat between the tail light and the body of the car, but it never solved the problem,.
Vauxhalls answer was to start installing tail tail lights that had the top half of the tail light opaque instead of clear plastic.
The lights still developed condensation but it was less obvious due to the opaque plastic top half.
Basically an attempt to mask a problem that was still there.
