DS 3 E-Tense (2021) - Retractable door handle stuck halfway / Motor failure?

Hello! I’m having an issue with the retractable door handle on my DS 3 E-Tense. It gets stuck in an intermediate position. I can still pull it to open the door, and if I push it in, it goes back to its normal flush position. The car is no longer under warranty. Has the handle actuator/motor failed? Do I need to take it to an auto electrician? I’ve attached a video of the issue.

Common fault.
Lots of posts on here about this.
Short answer is : Water ingress into the handle mechanism.
The mechanism and handle come as as single unit.
I’ve had all 4 replaced under warranty on my DS4 E Tense .

The mechanism is housed in a plastic sealed unit, but over time water can get inside causing the handles, stick, stick out, not work at all.
Theres a post on here somewhere showing how to remove the inner door panel and how to access the mechanism unit.
If you can do this yourself you can then open up the unit, clean it out and reseal it or you could fit a complete new unit yourself.
A new handle with mechanism is around £300 in the UK.
If any more go faulty on my car and its out of warranty, I’ll be attempting the DIY fix before buying a new handle.

I dont think it’s a huge job because each time my car has been done it takes less than an hour at the dealership.

Thats showing a door panel removal, but theres also another post on here somwhere showing how to open up the sealed unit and fix it it.

Found it.
Scroll down on the post and you’ll see a few photos of the mechanism stripped down.
At the end of the day, even if you cant do the DIY fix you’ve lost nothing because it was faulty anyway, so then you just buy a new one and install it youself, saving you labour costs.
